We all have different ways of communicating thoughts and actions by using different words or pet phrases . A famous example being " Tired and emotional " which really meant being a drunken pain in the arse .
So let's have your pet names, coded phrases and silly sayings that you use in everyday life :D
I'll start with my dear friend, who if he and his wife were late meeting us would claim that he had been " washing his face " . We were convinced they'd just had a quickie and that had held them up .

What a wonderful thread idea.

Pet name? Well...... he's my cowboy:heart:

At home, if I refer to a movie as "13" it means it was much more than "intense"
(get it, in 10s?):D

I love this.

Let's see.. how about "Homework" as a reference to, well, me doing everything possible to distract him from his homework. :D

My friend kept telling me he was dropping the kids off at the pool. When I replied I didn't know he had kids, he informed me it meant he was going for a poo. :p

That was years ago by the way..... :)

I believe that one is pretty universal. Taking the browns to the super bowl. The more racist, dropping the Cosby kids off at the pool, etc.

I use.. I ain't just a woofin' meaning I am serious and not kidding about whatever the subject is.

A man that I love dearly was addicted to a certain soap opera. He didn't want his friends to know he watched it. He'd say things like...

Gotto go, "Who Shot John" is on, and I try to catch it when I can.

My Husband and I Have our "Date" nights....

Which is code for Mommy & Daddy are gonna be getting Busy upstairs..... ;)

"Crop Dusting" this is when your in a grocery store and accidently break wind (fart) and you quickly decide you no longer need anything from that isle and rush of buggy squealing!!

Great to see this thread back up there.
One of my favourites is describing a beer belly as " The balcony over the toy-shop " :)

My girlfriends and I say we're "raising the flag" or "the flag is raised" as code for that time of the month. It was coined after the Japanese flag, which is white with a red circle in the middle.
