oh i completely agree with you, but i guess money needed to be recouped somewhere along the line as it was privately owned and the preservation people bought it. the woman whose ranch it had been would have needed compensating otherwise so money still would have changed hands. no argument from me that the tribe should have been able to reclaim their land without any gobetweens but at least the outcome is what they're happy with.
