Do you have any work that could be turned into a strong stage script? Would you like to experiment? I am an experienced director, actor, and sometime author looking for work that is intelligent or funny or twisted or disturbing, emotional, artsy...whatever. I would like to assemble a small team of writers who meet to workshop and hone the work before ultimately producing either a short play festival, one full length production, or both. I am reaching out to both more conventional playwights as well as writers of erotic literature to see what the collaboration brings.Write me at wldlife926@yahoo.com if interested. No $ up front (I'm just a baby producer), but if it takes off, maybe we can all do well off this.

Is there some particular reason it has to be women?
Not sure in this case, but often when it's specified the answer is most likely money. Doing independent cultural work is financial suicide, and anything that can get you an extra grant from somewhere is very important. Most often those kind of money come from goverment grants or organizations with an ideological idea, like the advancement or women/immigrants/ekimos/troubled children or something or the other. Play by those rules and you can get projects financed.

Get a wig, and rock'n'roll. ;)

Anyway, to get back from the politics: Cool idea. Playwriting is great fun. Good luck with the filming n stuff.

Rob, you and I can be troubled children of eskimos who write erotica and we can get grants that.

And Ogg, I think Jeanne should DEFINITELY count, just state that she is camera shy and never makes public appearances.

Surely Trannies would count as much as 'pure' women...

The rule is; If you can put it in a drawer and walk away from it- you're female.

That's the leather-queer definition, anyway... :)

I don't know how many grant institutions would accept that, though!

I have lots of 'its' I can put in a drawer and walk away from. I carry my main 'it' with me at all times. I'm rather attached to it. :D

I could put it in a drawer but I'm going to look funny dragging a chest of drawers along behind me....

How far would I have to walk? And do I have to close the drawer?
