Erotic stories or prerecorded 900 number moaning?

I just finished listening to or trying to listen to most of the audio stories posted. My StudMuffin prefers audio stories to the written variety, don'tcha know. Hayuhtun.

I didn't really care for any of them, personally, except Mistress Hecate's. It seemed to be the only bona fide story on there. Heidi's Adventure wasn't too bad, but it was more like a penthouse letter being related aloud than a story to me. I prefer stories.

All of this led me to wonder...

When ya'll listen to an audio story, what do you prefer to hear? Do you prefer to hear an actual story read aloud, kinda like mainstream books on tape? Do you prefer it in the more intimate penthouse letter style? Or do you rather a full sound effect imitation of a 900 sex number phone call?

i like the intimate personall penthouse letter type audio that sounds like its being directed to me, although everybody listends to them

You know actually I would have to say that I would prefer the whole story read ... as in mainstream books on tape sort of thing.

BUT Having said that I do prefer to sit down by myself and just read the story, I think that way you put your own atmosphere into the story, and that's what makes a story to me.

I love the stories on this site, they are all well written and you will always get the ones that are more well written than others, but overall they seem to do there job on me  Too Much Info right??? :D

Take Care :)

By the way Killer, Great Question's there. *HUG*

We post what's submitted...so if you don't like what you hear, KM, get a microphone and Sound Forge software and show us what you like!

Seriously! I would LOVE to have more stories that are actually "stories". The ones I currently have are a stack of .wav recordings made a while ago by stripper friends of mine. I loved Mistress Hecate's submission. I'd love to hear more submissions from you folks. I'd especially love to hear some MALE audio...James Cody has submitted some fine audio poems, as has Havocman, but I've yet to receive a male audio story. If you're interested in recording audio, Endlessly has done it and so has Hecate and both (I'm sure, lol) would love to help you out! ;)

if i had the software i would record it something, but i am too cheap to pay for an mp3 recorder

Laurel, you make RealAudio with Sound Forge? Is there a place to download it?

I've been wanting to submit some more audio, but my IAM trial ran out.

Muffy...you always come up with the best questions. :)

I would have to say, for myself, I prefer to "hear" the regualr stories (book-on-tape type). To be completely honest, I prefer to read them myself...helps me visualize, and that's what it's all about to me. Seeing this lovely creation with your mind's eye.

I'm one of those strange people who cannot listen to a story; I lose the thread very early on and just can't get it again. I have to read it.

I've really tried, Laurel. Sigh.

I have an old version of Sound Forge which can save in Real Audio format. I'm sure the newer versions have more bells & whistles, but I think the program has also gotten pretty pricy. Here's the webpage if you're interested:
http://www.sonicfoundry.com/

RealNetworks makes a program called RealProducer which enables you to record audio and video. There's a free version available on their website. We've recently purchased the "pro" version which has the capability of encoding multiple quality levels in the same file. What that means is that someone with DSL would hear better quality audio than someone with a 28.8 modem. I've only just started playing with it, but I think it should increase the quality of the audio files substantially if we start with high-quality .wav files.

So the best way would be for you kids to send me a .wav file and we can convert it to Real Audio. Obviously, the .wav files would be pretty large, and some people have trouble sending large files.

if some gal here would send me a story that would interest them if a male read it i will try it out and send it in to laurel.

Gotcha beat Laurel baby

I already have a story half written and just purchased the software to record it before I posted this question. It always occurs to me about halfway through whatever I'm doing that hey stupid, you think you should check to see what the target audience wants first????

My StudMuffin likes to hear me read, he says I do it very well, cause I talk slow. It's not too bad, if you can get past the hick accent. Its gonna be one big .wav file tho, so if ya'll convert it that's purrrrrfect. If I can't get it sent in the traditional manner, I'll whalemail it to ya, it can't be that big.

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuum?

Has anyone considered the possibilities of a collaborative effort by several readers?
One for the narrative, then to set the tone, one for each character, Duuuuuuuuuur ok I give up just thinking about all the editing involved made my head spin.

I could probably do it Ez, the program I bought was made for sound editing. I have a couplea fucked mp3z I need to repair as well. It would take work and attention to detail, but I have no outside life so what the hell.

Ooohhh....good idea Ezzy.

We can do the whole Batman story complete with the charachters.

Dammit, Muffy, I want better lines! :)

Joker...ooh ooh...I know I know! But...I'm not telling. Muffy has sworn me to secrecy with threats of violence and harm to my little body. Wait, maybe that wasn't a threat. ;)

Muffster...if you gave me the lines I REALLY wanted you and I could start our OWN SRP thread *giggle* ;)
