Maybe it's the restraints, the forced submission ... or perhaps just the good ol' fashioned 'naughtiness' of it, but I always remember getting a kick out of seeing beautiful women in EROTIC PERIL; typically at the hands of some nefarious evil doer.

A perfect example of this would be the altar-bound damsels in distress, typically depicted in the cover art of such comics as Conan. Here's some prime examples.

Of course it was always myself who I imagined rescuing them ... much to their eternal and CARNAL (of course ;)) gratitude.

Surely I can't be the only one? Not among all you BDSM aficionados?

If you haven't seen it already, do yourself a favour and check out the work of John Willie.

I sometimes imagined myself as the one in erotic peril... perhaps that was as a counter point to my stong insticts to avoid humiliation via flight.

I was set up a couple times as a youngster, and fled other potential opportunities later before giving them a chance to turn out the same way or defy that expectation.

In anycase, I'm sure flipped script was not the narrative you were hoping to hear about.

Thanks for sharing anyway. ;)

Any form of objectification, especially in fantasy scenarios, is something I generally go wild for. Taking the autonomous and unattainable, like a princess or beautiful heroine, and reducing them to the opposite, vulnerable and powerless. Myself I watch a lot of Doctor Who, which was notorious, especially in the older series for putting young feisty heroines in peril, and not going to lie, I do sometimes get a kick out of that :D

I can definitely see myself at the female in this situation, though im no princess

As Morrigan from DA:O said, "Men are always eager to believe two things about a woman. That she wants him, and that she's weak."

I think it's quite accurate.
Damsel in Distress trope was popular throughout the ages. Historically in most cultures women were weak, something to be protected, something to be conquered as a prize.
A woman in danger tickles a lot of masculine instincts - she fulfills her stereotypical role of being weak and helpless, she really wants the protagonist to come and rescue her (needs him, depends on him), and the situation lets the protagonist show off his masculinity by slaying a monster or overcoming the challenge.
It's also a perfect setup where the hero doesn't need any words or complicated thought to seduce her - all he needs to do is swing his sword and she will be head over heals over him.

By the way, interestingly it's not just a trope. Women do tend to get a favorable first impression of a man who comes to their rescue, even in small things. That's just how psyche works.
Many girls are excited by stories of white knights coming to the rescue, and want to be the princess he rescues. Men fantasize to be the rescuer and have a princess (preferably blonde, preferably fit, preferably with wide hips and fair boobs) to feel indebted to him and fall inlove at first sight.

I have been into the same thing I blame my fetish on wonder woman TV series I loved to see Linda Carter as she gets captured and tied up then if that didn't get my pre pubescent juices flowing the would reach down and strip off her magic belt draining her powers and she would be weak and vulnerable to the enemy's will I loved it so much I found a suitable belt and also had to have thong panties to and mind you I was badly 8 and I was already full on in my kinks I wanted it so bad as I grew so did my power striength energy as well as my well developed weaknesses that fuled my fetish for it in all I would hide my belt and thong panties under my normal cloths. And be so aroused at the thought of beingb caught off guard and tied up helpless to do anything and watch as I was exposed and notably questioned about my hidden secrets I guarded so selfishly I did have set ups by my own girlfriend as well as close friends and it's been a wonderful approach to sex in my life and I admit I wouldn't change for anything sorry for running on I love the thread thanks

I was going to go here, but you beat me to it. I really liked when she was held by her own golden lasso.

The ol' damsel in distress. It's never really done anything for me, which is weird, since on the surface it seems like totally my thing. Too ritualised, maybe? I don't know, but I love hearing other people who are into it talk about it, so this thread is a joy.

I'd never thought of 'erotic peril' before, but a lot of what is said on here makes sense to me. I remember as kid watching magic shows on TV, where a beautiful and provocatively clothed woman would be put in a box and then sawed in half, or impaled with swords, and the the magician - always a man - would put her back together again. I remember being captivated and thrilled by it, imagining myself in her position, and even though I didn't understand the sexual themes, I was vaguely aware of the objectification and thrilled by it.

That's pretty hot !

Although most of my stories are femdom-related, I wrote one that involves a young, somewhat-uptight corporate chick who blows the whistle on sexual acts going on in a strip club and through a series of misunderstandings, winds up getting caught up in the police raid of that club and is mistaken for a dancer and is locked up in the same jail cell with all the arrested strippers she blew the whistle on...
