G'Day all.

Australia's People Mag (which is entirely unlike America's People Mag) is looking for erotic fiction to run in a new weekly column called Erotic Tales. Entries should be around 500 words, for which you’ll receive the princely sum of $100 (Aussie dollars). We’re looking for stories that go beyond the everyday, run of the mill scenario – they have to be creative as well as erotic. Transport our readers away from their everyday lives.
As we’re an unrestricted magazine, there are some guidelines to follow.

·All acts described must be legal (which means no extreme stuff, no drug-taking and so forth)
·All participants in the story must be at least 18 years old
·No fetish stuff (e.g. watersports, BDSM etc.)
·Aggressive and violent language (e.g. pounded, banged) and actions should be avoided
·No misogynistic language or actions either
·Lesbians are OK, but no guy-on-guy stuff, AND
·Don’t be too graphic or gross.

Your best bet is to grab a copy of the mag and read the True Blue Confessions section as a guide for language and content.
Also, be prepared to have your stories edited for space and content. If you’re precious about your work, then you’re probably better off not contributing.

Send your stories to scubis@acpmagazines.com.au!

"they have to be creative as well as erotic. Transport our readers away from their everyday lives."

And you expect that in around 500 words?

Along with being non-graphic, non-gross, non-guy-on-guy and non-pounding/banging.
Well, there go all 500 words I could use :p

sounds like the audience is mostly straight male with a smattering of females, maybe couples...

Let's me out entirely. I can't create a grocery list in less than 500 words :D That's short even by short/short fiction standards!

Hmmmm.. 500 word eh?? :(
No gang bangs, nawty dialogue etc. :(
No whips and chains :(
No explicit discriptions :(
No guy/guy scenes :(

Sorta narrows the choices

Sounds boring, too.

Ward: June, would you like to fool around tonight, dear?
June: Yes Ward, but nothing out of the ordinary, and only for procreative purposes.
Ward: Of course dear. Say, have you seen the Beaver?
June: No Ward, and you won't be seeing any beaver either - turn off the light, please.

Aint that called 'flash' or something? Still 500 words for $100 sounds pretty nice, I may throw a couple of softies at them.

Flash Fiction, yep. I've got several collections of it, between 700 and 1200 words...and not one erotic story I can think of.

I can think of one short/short I read in BAE, I think this year's or last year's, and while it was about sex and was graphic, it was NOT "transporting". Good, grim, honest, even funny, but not "transporting".

G'Day again.

We're a national magazine here in Australia with an MA rating - which means we can be sold to 15-year-olds. The reason for the conditions is that the mag has to go through the Office of Film And Literature Classification or we lose that soft rating.

Obviously it's not as free a forum as a website like this, but if you're keen to contribute, let me know. We need one story a week, and we're hoping to draw upon the resources of an experienced crowd...which will hopefully encourage our readers to contribute.

The mag itself is more of a blokesy affair - we focus on celebrity nudity and beautiful naked women in glamour poses. ...Basically we show boobs, bums and bush (or lack thereof), but no breakfast shots :)

Hopefully that clears up a bit more about what we want.

Any other questions, let me know.

Shane

I have an unpublished story of about 500 words that might work. I have submitted via e-mail. Please let me know your reaction in any case. TIA.

Despite my previous sarcastic post, it actually sounds like a worthy challenge for good writers. It's a lot easier to come off as highly erotic and spicy when you can devote 15,000 words to exlicit descriptions of half a dozen college lesbians engaging in a bdsm anal strapon sex orgy. Creating a truly erotic piece within the contraints of this publication requires skill and imagination. And $100 is fair dinkum compensation, mate.

I was kind of hoping that 500 words thing was your mistake.
Well, let me think about this...

ROFL. That's pretty much what I had in mind, Roxanne

Questions

1. Does ganja count as a drug?
2. Are you allowed to use the word 'fuck' in it?

Observations

Lesbians are more than ok... :catroar:

Cricky...I can't do a proper blowjob in less than 1000 and no boy-boinkie-boy...that totally lets me out. *pouting*

I checked the domain from your e-mail address & can find no mention of a "People" magazine. Is there a website for this rag?

They exist, but I can't find a website... wiki says:

"In Australia, the localised version of People is titled Who because of a pre-existing lad's mag published under the title People."

Shane,

Two questions:

Do you (the mag) have a preference about the person (first, third) used? Penthouse forum types must always be first person.

Is there a gender perference for the POV character?

This site has a 750 word count minimum for submissions. However, something tells me this crew won't be able to pass up the challenge. Good luck with the mag.

Rumple Foreskin
