I was wondering if any of you have read the Noirotica series of books, pairing crime fiction with a more erotic edge. I really enjoy it, and am exploring it further with the stories I hope to write here (one already in the approval pipeline). I was just curious about how people look at the intertwining of the two genres, and the ups and downs of it all.

I think it could work well. Stress and danger generate a high emotional state that could be a trigger for some very hot stuff, and the suspense that could be generated would keep the reader deeply involved.

Something to watch would be the balance between the two. If the work is intended to titillate, the details of the crime should be sufficient to establish the mood, but not so strong as to make the sex an "also happened" event.

Check out the "Longarm" westerns and the "Mike Hammer" detective series. Both were popular and money makers.

I just started a story in which the main character is accused of murdering

a member of the press.... I have about 10 pages so far. This is a first, so I'm not sure if I have a balance or not. guess time will tell, huh?

i wonder...

if there is enough interest to poll for a couple of categories, 'crime' for one and 'adventure' for another?
