This would have been pretty epic, if it wasn't for all the god damn tourists...

...like me. :eek:
 
I saw it in about 1973. Took forever for the folks just to park the Ford Country Squire wagon.

Once on the trails, it was like queueing in line to get into Disneyland at the same time period.

Without a ride at the end of all the shuffling lines.

Can't imagine how bad it is now.

95% looking for a place to park. 2% annoying people. 2% trees in the way. 1% hey look, cool mountains.

I'd recommend anyone to skip the valley and take the Tioga Road drive just north of instead. That was totally worth the detour.
 
Yea you went during peak tourist season.

I always go in late in the year to avoid that LOL

Hope you get to check out the coast too!
