End of the World and I feel fine.

Okay, this thread is both the IC and OOC.

The back story is simple. God shows up in our modern world. He then gets every ones attention so he doesn't have to repeat himself and announces the world is ending in the next 24 hours. He finishes with "Thank you and have a good day."

This story starts at dawn and is about how every one spends there last day. A mass murder could spend it trying to repent, or killing people with a ax because he was going to hell anyways.

Right now I am looking for questions, ideas, and other responses; but bios are always welcome.

Well the time limit 24 hours is fairly short, do you guys want to extend it, I am open to suggestions, but I won't gohigher then a week.

I will go ahead and point out the message was from god if the Judea-Christian are right, the Buddha or a Buddha if the Buddhists are right. Any other religeon could have similar a similar theory.

It could also be that this 'God' chose to let the people of earth worship him in the way they chose and will appear accordingly to those people that belive as their God and those that are atheists have no knowledge of the end of days. now that might be interesting.

That may be true, but my preference is that the atheists know. I am guessing in your set up the agnostics would be in the atheist boat, or would they, not addressing the question, have a nagging feeling something important is about to happen and that is it. (Just curious.)


I was going to let this thread die and try the idea again in a couple months, with any new ideas that come up. Would you guys prefer to try it now, or wait till I refine the idea before trying it.

hmmm...I would be interested to understand

1. How you plan to "reveal God". Does he appear on Larry King Live? or is he a floating vision for all to see? Why do we believe this is for real....and not just a parlour trick?
2. Does he claim to be the one-and-only god?..this is fine for Christian and muslims since they have the same "god'...but what about Buddism and other religions of the world.....are they off the hook?
3. Why does he give 24 hours notice? What is the point from his standpoint? Does he just want people to suffer for a few hours?
4. Why does "God" want to do this act? Is it a modern day Noah's Ark? Is there any hope at all for survival?

Further more I mean he wakes up any one who is sleeping, stops sex, maybe shuts a few TVs off, and shoots a lighting bolt at any loud birds. As for apearing that isn't the case we have a voice deal here.

1.5 Why do we believe this is for real....and not just a parlour trick? Okay if every one in Japan hears a voice speakig japanese telling them the world is going to end and at the same time every one in Canada hears a voice saying the word is going to end eh, and similarly every one heres a voice speaking there preferd language makeing the same claim, chances are most people are going think the world is going to end.

2. Nope the person didn't even claim to be god, some one could think the world is being invaded by aliens and have just as much evidence to suport it.

4. Why does "God" want to do this act? Is it a modern day Noah's Ark? Is there any hope at all for survival? Well the metagame answer is no, I plan to kill every one. As far as the people know there could be a way out, perhaps the deal is the same as the one with Jonna and they think if enough people pray and repent the orld will be spared. Maybe they think cows anger the aliens and if they kill all of them they will be fine.

Doesn't seem much point to this game if there is no hope and you will kill everyone after twenty-four hours

i think this would be a study in the human condition rather than an ongoing game.

Hope? There is plenty of hope, all the people are hopeing for an escape or perhaps an entrance into heaven, the fact that this thread doesn't adress heaven or survivors doesn't make the goals any less real for the characters.

As a player this game isn't about wining, but on this site very few are. This thread is about the characters. Who is still going to go to work? Who is going to find that girl from highschool? Who is going to convert? Who is going to do good deeds? Who is going to tell off that one guy?

Any how, I have decided not to start this thread right now. I want to put sme more thought into it first.
