Just recently, I found myself appreciating some "adult content" , when I found out that the "actress" shares a name with the daughter of a friend. Making it impossible for me to enjoy myself. I've had this happen more times than I'd like. Some, cousin, aunt, coworkers... ect. Name would come up, then I would find myself suddenly forced with the question, do I continue or not?

That ain't yer family.

Unless, well ... maybe.

A 1920s actress has the same surname as the real me. She was no relation. She just took the unusual surname as a distinctive stage name.

That surname also occurs as the hero of an obscure Western novel.

just because she has the same name, doesn't mean she's even remotely related. If you're having problems with it, then that's YOUR problem. Maybe go for counseling.

Oh yeah, would that have been Courtney Bashan? She was a big star on broadway.

I think I read some book called "Silver City Stage Stop" where the main character was named Hector Bashan.

I have a pretty common last name so there are a lot of people with mine- even, I am guessing, in adult films.

No.Not oggbashan, but my real life surname which is unusual.

I always thought you were Oggbert Trevor Bashan, the famous British erotic fiction author. Maybe that's someone else.
