What do you expect from authors? If we don't write emotions and dilemmas into our stories, they will go nowhere.CharleyH said:Don't they just drain you? They drain me, especially on a forum called 'AUTHOR's HANGOUT'.
Here's advice: Get a shrink, pay for one, even.

I love my shrink.
I helped build one, once-- but we never had a horse pull it, it went onto a trailor to take it to the faire sites. That was one of the very first construction jobs i ever had...English Lady said:I love the whole lot of'em and think it's good that people feel so comfortable here that they share everything and run here for advice.

Charleys... um... limo.Recidiva said:Everyone respect Charley's wishes, now.
It seems the name Author's Hangout is insensitive to her needs.
Let's brainstorm.
Clearly Author means one person, and not many. And Hangout...I'm not sure that's getting across what she needs.
Let's all make sure Charley gets what she needs here.
Let's not be insensitive.
Charley's...What?
Maybe we can petition to have it changed.

Sandbox, swingset,
Brassiere?
I'm being insensitive, aren't I?
It's something when it's for a story, but not everything is. It's something when it's even about knowing you or your emotions, but sometimes it's just purely about reaching out and touching someone, getting a hug, getting some sympathy / empathy. It's all right if that's what you think should go around on here, but just don't confuse it with being about 'authors'. It's about people, that's all. Nothing writerly about it.Stella_Omega said:What do you expect from authors? If we don't write emotions and dilemmas into our stories, they will go nowhere.
