I hate to ask and show my age, but what the hell is an EMO?
We used to call them "teenagers".
Now you just call their agency.

Love will tear us apart again (see the lyrics, classic emo)...

later emo sounds more like this:

One could argue as Lance does that Emo is really just the teenager existential state of mind, but it's more precisely a specifically decadence style of teenage angst that evolved out of the punk scene and rejects all past forms of teenage revolt, in the sense that past youthful rebels, even those without a cause, vigorously struggled for a future.

The main theme of Emo is resignation, surrender and a kind of falling down but having no will to get back up again. In this sense it's very psychologically geriatric, much like the post-modern gestalt of the civilisation that bore it. Without hope.
