Emily’s NEW positivity and being nice to each other thread

Hi! I checked the content guide and did not see anything about it but wanted to double check since it's better to be safe than sorry. Are we allowed to include the F slur in our stories? If so, does it need to be censored like F*ggot or can we spell it out fully?

I have used it in dialog without issue.

I had two frat boys high on something call each other that - seemed in character. No issues with publishing.

What? Versus the German or Italian word for "bassoon"? I don't see the problem here. ;)

Is it acceptable practice to send Laurel a PM about that? I'm still pretty new and don't know the SOP

Thank you!
Folk have reported that email contact with the site (which is what the feedback function uses) doesn't work, whereas we know a PM will get through. Therefore, use what is known to work. Laurel probably won't reply, but your story might suddenly go live.

If your story is going to be rejected for whatever reason, you'll get a rejection notice. Think on the basis that no news is good news.

Also, writing fag*ot is just dumb, in my opinion. Everyone knows what you mean, so the meaning is not hidden. Besides, there's nothing wrong with binding up wood ;).

Filed under "unexpected perils of aging"
I gave someone a look of mock surprise, mouth open and eyes wide, etc. and appear to have strained or torn a muscle in face, judging from the pain and bruising.
I guess I really should have smiled more.

Thanks! Will try sending a PM. Was just shy and thought it might be seen as rude to PM the person running the site just for my own inquiry.

I'm new so I wasn't sure what the policy was about using that since it's a slur haha. Better to be safe than risk a rejected story, especially since I'm experiencing a very long wait

I'm positively sure my head-splitting pain will soon be over. If it isn't, I'll post in my opposite to this thread---thread!
