Embedded image in post?

Hey Litserz,
I'm trying to upload an image, but it only shows the link and I would like to have the image show as well. Im sure this has been asked a lot and I tried finding a thread about it, but no luck.

My friend gave me this idea
Braket IMG=imagecodegoeshere][/IMG braket

(I don't use the word braket, but the symbol.)

What's wrong? What, exactly, is the image code? Obviously I am not a tech person. I'm sure this question gets asked a lot? Anyway, was wondering how to have the image show on the thread instead of having to click a link.

Almost there.

<img>ImageURL</img> with the < and > replaced by [ and ], and "ImageURL" replaced by the link to the image.
