I agree that scrutiny of her papers is sufficient for her to resign and I agree with her decision to do so....but what does that mean towards addressing the issues of the code of conduct and lack of safety for students? Nothing....

They are playing us for chumps, "Gay will now return to a role within the political science department, and will retain a salary on the same level as while she was president."

Cheating upwards, Gay returns to low-output low-impact scholarship, soothed by a $900,000/year salary.

A law degree from Harvard, will, in my opinion, carry with it a stigma. Damage is done.

I'm not defending her. I have already said she should resign and appreciated when she did.

I personally don't care why they hired her or whether she plagiarized. I have repeatedly said the College needs to do more to protect students. And if they wish to address integrity issues with the public, it's on them to do so. I would expect that alumni, students and donors will pressure them if that is what is expected.

The difference is that I'm not histrionic about it and I'm certainly not judging her. Every little thing is not a mountain

Why weren't the missing footnotes picked up when she defended her dissertation? It's not the Universities job to review her dissertation.
