Elizabeth Warren for President?

I don't think I could support a liberal Democrat because of social issues, but no other potential candidate today talks about the damage "free" trade has done to the workers and American industry.

She sounds pretty damn good on economic issues. A true patriot who cares about American jobs and industry...

my issues with her kind ... she's never had a real job. never been honest. she milks the system.

has she or anyone like her ever been responsible to make a payroll?

I think this is why so many in government are mentally fucked in the head, I mean retarded on steroids stupid as they have no idea what it takes to create a job and build the revenue to sustain that employee

It is true that Free Trade hasn't been particularly good to the American worker. However there are a few things that are often overlooked here. First it's really nobody's fault but ours that the US government isn't on the team and is instead viewed as the enemy. In all the countries that are stealing jobs from us the government aggressively steps in to help. They have Universal Health Care, they generally have or had subsidies, they tarriff US goods, in the case of China they even manipulate currency and we don't even call them out on it. That's got little to do with Free Trade. (This part isn't defending Free Trade, just pointing out that we've over simplified how some of this went down.)

There is is also the fact that other things than the economy are floating around the world. Look at China. We basically infected them with the 'Murikah! Virus. The one that has McDonalds popping up all over the place, makes you the second largest market (surpassing Japan) for US media in the world and all but renouncing Communism and socialism. Now I'm not going to claim we have always leveraged our power properly, but we haven't always been as giving as we should have been either. We should be pushing for better human rights. We also should have helped with with tech so they could leap frog over our dirty factory stage. However even if we choose not to pull them we have levers to effect change in China that we wouldn't have otherwise.

We were also in the process of switching over to being the leader in high tech. It's not really anybody's fault but our own that we didn't support education enough to stay ahead of the competition.

Also NAFTA fucked over Mexico as bad as it did us. They thought they were gonna get in on the textiles industry because Americans are over paid, turns out we were so heavily automated that humans are over paid. I don't even know who the fuck made out on NAFTA! Does someone off the top of their head know who that benefited?

None of this is meant to claim that Free Trade is a good thing, only that it's not quite as simple as people like to talk about it being.

Basically you don't like her and people like her because she's smarter than you and got an education. Earning a payroll is for people who aren't good enough to earn a salary or better. I assume you have the same problem with virtually everybody who's run for office recently? I would love for you to show me which ones of them actually worked regular jobs of some sort. Even on the right where most of them weren't lawyers (Which should be a prereq. Non lawyers writing laws? How fucking absurd.)

Ted Cruz did pretty fucking well for himself for example. School, college, lawyer. A man to be proud of for sure, even comes from humble origins.

These are the people you should pointing your kids at and telling them, be like them a success.

She'll never get the nomination. US politics are owned outright by global capital and global capital aint gonna allow Elizabeth Warren to be president.

Oh, I don't think anybody with a brain held out a hope she'd even run much less win the nomination. And in the incredible world that she got that far she's too far left. She'd be utterly annihilated in the actual election.

No, you're not. You only say that because it's all you've got.

Keep telling yourself that, "Socialist" is what they have and it's a silver fuckin' bullet.

This ^^

Ain't it though? But she should just own it and so should every democrat who can afford it for a while. It's not like "rebranding" everything the so called liberal media finishes demonizing the last term is ever going to work.

I'm not sure I buy that global capital is really that worried about Warren though. Judging by every other nation on Earth you'd think global capital would be pushing America join the club and be more efficient so they can make even more money rather than to keep dragging the pack down.

You might have something going if the entire country had graduated college in the last few years and they were the only folks who had any money.

Unfortunately they are the minority and they don't have a pot to piss in....sucks for socialist.

Warren isn't going to do shit except be ridiculed out of the race for being a wealth spreading commie SLUT who wants everyone to pay for her contraceptives because socialist love killing babies.

I'm not sure I trust her, if she can't make sure she uses a valid cert. (it's been like this for weeks)

Guys. You know she's not running, right?

So you don't think that lying about your ethnic heritage in order to secure a position at a prestigious university a topic worth discussion?
Didn't happen.

Scott Brown is a liar. He said, "When you are a United States Senator, you have to pass a test." Completely false.
