Ok guys.... I need some help.
Yesterday, my kidley had his final operation, and now has a large numb area on the side of his face (extending from his ear to the side of his mouth) which is likely to be permanent.
What this means is that he can no longer use a blade shaver.

Now - every man I know uses a blade, so I have no idea what's a good shaver and what's not.
So, what brand/model do you use? Reviews please.

I've put this question up on a couple of other sites I visit, so I should get a good cross-section of answers and reviews.

No.

Electric razors really suck.

The modern incarnation of blade razors make it really hard to cut or nick yourself.

You can always try nonopro...

;) ;)

I've never had an electric.

I think that, if Junior is careful with a modern blade, he should be fine.

My blade is kinda electric. It has a little motor in the handle that makes it vibrate.

I can pretend that it is a tiny, tiny Mopar...

Your greater pretense lives in your driveway.

I put about 400 miles on a Chevy truck over the weekend. It was okay, but it warn't no Hemi.

I showed my big ol' V-8 to my contractor.

He was impressed with how clean it was.

Thinks like me; even when they make shot for cars, the take pride in their trucks.

It's a lot like razors; even if the handle is shit, they take pride in the blades, the number, the thinness, the lubricant, the lubrican...,

I really like my Norelco. It was the official shaver of the James Bond movie,"Die Another Day" with Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry, so that's how long I've had it. It is incredible how long the battery holds its charge. When it finally dies I cannot remember the last time I charged it. The charger usually get lost somewhere in the back of my drawer. It does take about a month for your skin to get accustomed to the electric shaver, but I'm satisfied with the results.

I'm thinking of going ahead and ordering my new ignition system this week, which means it butts in line in front of high performance brakes. Why tune up something which I'll have to do a couple more times when I can just replace it once . . . and get the brakes, which still work fine, next go-'round.

Chingando pensando yo . . . .

Best not be no Mexicunt . . . unless it's Wunderkunt.

Depp and Trejo . . . .

I think The Powers That Be have been "improving" the site again with "upgrades". ;)

He shaves with scissors...

;) ;) There's a way to cover numb.

Heh.
He's only been shaving a few months, so he hasn't got the hang of the blade fully yet.
Better safe than sorry, hence the idea to switch (plus he'll have to shave around his new scar.)

Anyway - it's been a long day so I'm having an early night for a change!

Any brand-name electric razor will do an excellent job out of the box. To keep them that way a little maintenance is needed. Usually that means keeping the moving parts clean and lubricated. Also, the blades will wear out and need sharpening or replacing, same as any other razor.

If you're buying a new electric razor, also buy a half-dozen packs of replacement blades. You'll need them.

I can't say it any better.

Good luck with it.

Go to Amazon dot com and search for electric shaver in Health & Personal Care.

Read the customer reviews.

He can also try using a banana like this guy did.

Thanks for that! I would never have considered that .... I just got a reply on another site that said the same thing.
Apparently, one guy had to replace the entire shaver as the replacement blades were no longer available.

Electrics create ozone and are bad for the environment.

Fuck the ozone and environment..... this is my sons face we're talking about!
Plus I suspect the 1hour drive each way to go buy it will do more damage than the lifetime of the shaver

If he was a real man he would use half a clam shell.:D

They used to make self-sharpening electric razors, but they figured out that they could make more money selling new blades.

He's 3 months shy of 17.
Although, at 6'2" he's now the tallest in the family!
He was placed in the adolescent ward of the hospital and they had to bring a spare bed from the adult ward as the beds there didn't extend enough to accommodate him!

*thread hijack* I love watching a man shave, it's incredibly sexy. I really get turned on.

Heh - so do I.
But every time I watch my man shave, he nicks himself. Never happens when I'm not watching.
So now I'm banned from the bathroom when he shaves

Mine told me he wasn't shaving 4 times a day no matter how hot I get. lol
