With only a 4 vote difference the election could really go either way if a few of them change their minds.

So I guess today we will really find out who our next president will be.
 
That would be a really sad thing this late in the game regardless who won. I know some states you are bound by law to vote as your state does. Maybe they all should pass that law.
 
Actually the votes only get cast today. The final result is given on January 5th. Between now and then a congress person can contest a vote if they desrie, so things could heat up again. My money says everything will be status quo.

Here's the rub. When the vote results are read on Jan 5th they are done by the senate chief who is the existing vice president, in this case Mr.Gore
 
There has to be something illegal about that. Did Bush Sr. do it when he went from being Vice Prez to Prez?
