Concept:
- An alien craft arrives at Earth.
- The vessel's leader, Luna, claims that Human life is the result of her race seeding Earth with our evolutionary ancestors 1 million years ago.
- She says it was an experiment that her race has performed on many planets and moons over millions of years.
- She says she is disappointed with the results here on Earth: Human Beings are destroying both themselves and their planet.
- As a result, the Human Race is to be erased from Planet Earth to clear the way for a new dominant species.
- She doesn't offer an option.
- As stated, Luna does not give an option for the Humans: they will be erased and replaced.
- However, there will be people desperate to offer another option.
- My thinking is that Luna will eventually accept several proposals that will lessen the negative Human impact on the planet, things such as:
- Greatly reducing Human population. And I mean greatly!
- Greatly reducing the Human impact on the planet by reducing exploitation of the environment, reducing waste, reducing power usage, yadda yadda; I think you get the picture.
- Returning vast portions of the planet to other life forms, animals and plants alike.
- These things will take years, decades, even centuries to accomplish. But if they are undertaken, Luna will accept them.
- At the same time, people who resist will be punished, either by Luna or by other Humans. I'm being very vague about this because I am not firm on a course regarding this. Let's see what we all come up with.
- I'm looking for a number of writers playing one or more characters; play as many as you think you can handle without holding up the storylines in which you find yourself.
- No big commitment is necessary: a couple of posts a week of a hundred words or so is totally fine. I am only concerned with the consistent forward movement of the story. Please, no novels. On the other hand, if you only need to post a single line to advance your interaction with another character, that's fine. (We have an option for rapid fire 1x1 interactions is that's what you find yourself in: 1x1 threads off to the side that are linked into the timeline in the appropriate place. We can discuss this more later if needed.)
- Also, if you only wish to write essentially on your own, you can do that, too. Sometimes, writers want to tell a story without a great deal of writer/character interaction. I don't have a problem with this.
- I do ask -- beg actually -- that you proofread for spelling, grammar, and punctuation. It shouldn't be a struggle for readers and your fellow writers to understand what you're writing.
- Characters do not have to be world leaders. They can be regular ol' folk who are affected by the erasure of the Human Race in one way or the other.
- I would prefer that you send me a PM telling me generally where you see your character going, simply so I know whether there are going to be conflicts between characters before they occur.
