The country was prospering well under the rule of Emperor Sujin who was currently in his twenty-seventh year of rule. The ecomnomy was going well and there had been few major problems during his reign. Twenty years ago his wife, Himiko, had given birth to twin girls. They were beautiful and very well cared for as they grew up. They were schooled in the proper qays of being a lady, being their father had also insisted they be taught fighting and military tactics, to make up for the lack of a son. Their mother was a bit reluctant at first, but accepted the fact when she saw the girls were enjoying themselves.

It was early evening by the time Keira was done with her solo practice. Her green eyes looked up at the stars as they shined in the sky, looking so beautiful. She twirled the pair of maces she had choose as her second weapon for a moment before she sat down on a bench. The courtyard was quiet, most everyone else was inside preparing for dinner.

Her body was slender and toned from the years of combat training she and her sister had recieved. Her long brown hair was curled up into two large buns on her head, head in place with some red ribbon. Her training outfit was almost formfitting, following the slender curves of her body. The collar of the outfit completely encircled her neck, going about halfway up her neck. The material angled down to either side just below her armpits and circled around to her back at her shoulder blades. It completely cover her full C cup breasts, down to just above her knees. There was a slit along the outside of her thighs to allow her more movement. On her feet were a pair of small wooden sandals.

She sighed for a moment and then looked up at the stars once more. She was tired from training and wondered what would be served for dinner.

Kendaru ran through the darkness, her emerald gown flowing around her legs and trailing behind. Her long brown hair blowing in the slight breeze. She knew where to find her sister, and hoped she would still be there reflecting after her training session.

She had been sent to gather her sister up for dinner and had been told not to be late. She thought something important must be in the air for it usually didn't matter if they were to arrive late, even though her father preferred promptness.

She smiled when she saw she hadn't missed her sister and continued to run in her direction. It seemed Kendaru ran everywhere, she was always too full of energy her father would say. It got her into trouble sometimes when she would seem so much in a rush that she would stumble or knock something over.

She ran up towards her sister, her gown wrapping about her legs, she stumbled and fell before her sister. She looked up and would have been blushing furiously if there had been light enough to see her face. She had always wanted to be more like her sister, graceful and calm, but it seemed the harder she tried the worse she was at it.

"Dinner is being served and I was sent to make sure you knew and came as well." She stood up brushing the dirt from her gown. She felt the slight tear in the material and knew that there would be trouble for that.

"We can't be late again, father will be upset."

Keira had to keep from laughing at her sister when she fell like she did. She could have kept K'Miko from falling, but it was too late when she had appeared like she did. She smiled and nodded as she stood up.

"I know, but I thought it would be better if I got a little cleaned up. I'll be in the dining room as soon as I get changed."

She reached down and took her sister's hand lightly, pulling her up gently.

"Try not to run and get hurt like you did last week K'miko."

She grabbed her maces and gave her sister a sweet smile before she made her way inside and to her bedroom to get changed.

Kendaru followed her sister inside. "I hope your training session went well. I am sorry I did not go tonight, I was held up with lessons."

She loved the training sessions with her sister the most, it was one of the only times where she was not clumsy. It seemed if anything she was much more graceful, all forgotton in her focusing on her movements.

The house was a flurry of activity as usual as the servants went about preparing for the evening dinner. She followed Jun'ko towards their rooms, "I guess I should try to change quickly so father will not see the tear in the dress. I'll see you at dinner Sister, please remember not to be late. I will tell father and mother that you had to change."

She slipped quickly into her room to change into a differnt gown that was not torn. She found a gown she liked, even if a little fancy for dinner with her sister, mother and father.

It was a light lavender in color, long and form fitting. It was sleeveless and high collared, with dark purple piping on the edges, collar and button ties. She slipped out of her shoes, enjoying the feel of the plush rugs of her room on her bare feet.

She straightened her hair quickly before leaving the room to meet her parents and sister in the dining room.

Keira spent a few moments trying to figure out what to wear to dinner. She finally pulled down a green dress to match her eyes. She wondered what could be so important that she couldn't be late. She shrugged softly before she slipped the dress on. It was the same design as her training outfit, but the skirt was longer in coming down to the floor and was only slit up to the middle of her right calf.

"Perfect."

She reached up and carefully untyed her hair, letting it fall down behind her. Her hair moved gently back and forth as she walked, coming only down to the middle of her back. She went without shoes because her feet were hurting more than usual after training.

She bowed to her mother and father as she entered the dining room, giving a smile to her sister as she entered. She made her way to the table and sat down carefully.

"What is so important tonight father?"

Kendaru sat quietly at the table with her parents as they awaited Jun'ko's arrival. She wondered as well what their father's news would be. He rarely made dinner an important meal unless he had an announcement to make.

She was worried that it would be something along the lines of meeting suitors. After all she and her sister were in their twentieth year and should have been married off long before now.

Her father had mentioned a few times about a few of his choices, but had changed his mind on the pleadings of his two daughters. She was dreading that that would be his announcement tonight. She was afraid this time that he had made up his mind and they would not be able to change it.

She waited patiently, shifting her feat under the table, for her father to speak up.

Their father smiled for a moment as he waited on Keira to get settled. He smiled to their mother before he looked between his daughters and spoke.

"It has to deal with you two getting suitors."

He laughed for a moment as both girls looked grief-strikened at the thought.

"Now, now. No need to get upset like that. Your mother and I had a long discussion on it and decided that we should not push the subject so harshly. We are the ruling family and do not need to expand any land holding, so I will not make you marry. However I believe it is time for you two to leave and find your own way before deciding. You are not young forever and need to enjoy it while you can. I do ask that you keep in touch."

Keira blinked a few times, looking between her father, mother, and sister. This was not what she expected. She sat silent for a few moments as dinner was brought by the servents. Their mother smiled lovingly to the girls. Jun'ko brokeher silence and giggled.

"Thank you father. That sounds like it will be fun."

Kendaru rolled her eyes at her father's words. She was shocked when he said that he was no longer pushing them to meet suitors. His next words, startled her when he said he wanted then to go out and find their way in life.

She laughed as Keira began giggling and said the journey would be fun. "Yes sister indeed it may be fun." She then looked back to her mother and father. "When is this journey to begin?"

"Well, can leave as early as tomorrow if you wish. And please be careful."

Their mother smiled softly to them, though she did seem a little sad that they would be leaving. Keira smiled and nodded softly.

"Thank you mother. I'll make sure that K'miko doesn't get into any trouble."

She grinned to her sister for a moment as it was usually Keira that always got into some sort of trouble. Dinner was oer quickly and Jun'ko excused herself to head to her room so she could start packing. She left her door open as she shifted through her outfits to try and figure out the best ones to carry. She sighed for a moment as she tried to figure what would be best since she didn't know how long they would be traveling.

Kendaru was surprised yet again when her father said they could leave as early as tomorrow. She was ready though, she had wanted to run away for awhile, and her sister knew of this, but Kendaru would never do such a thing to hurt her parents.

She stood and politely bowed to her mother and father before she turned to go to her room. She noticed Keira had left her door ajar and she stopped and stood there a moment before tapping on the doorframe.

She smiled slightly, "So you really think we'll be ready to go tomorrow?" She knew she would be and yes they would both be ready.

"You know I have a few things packed and I am sure father will send us with enough funds to get things we may need along the way. By the way... how long do you think we'll be gone?"

She was not afraid to go and she didn't mind if it was for awhile, she did not like the idea of not knowing how long that they would be gone.

She hmmed as she looked towards the door from folding up her traing outfit as she heard the knock and her sister speak.

"Oh I don't see why not. It shouldn't be too hard to leave so soon."

She giggled for a moment.

"You were already packed? Did you have an idea that something like this was going to happen?"

She reached up and brushed a few strands of brown hair from her face as she stood up. She grabbed her maces and placed them on the bed along with her black fan. The fan had been made for decoration and close combat as it had small blades which could retract in and out of the top for quick combat. The front of the fan had a red dragon curling around a large blue ball.

"Since you're all ready, did you mind helping me out? I'm not quite sure of what to take with me. Oh, and you look wonderful in your dress."

She laughed softly as she stepped into her sister's room. You knew I was already packed to run away if father was going to make us marry someone we didn't like." She sighed, "And you know I would have never really left."

She moved to her sister's side."Thank you for the comment on my dress.. You look good in yours as well. You know the green looks very flattering on you."She smiled again. "I see the way the men look at you when you wear it."

She looked to the things her sister was packing. She knew all she had to do was gather her own weapons, she was definitely not leaving her paired katana's behind. The two sisters may have mastered different weapons but they each complimented the other in battle, well training for battle as neither had see the real thing as of yet in theit 20 years.

"It looks like you are pretty much covered here. Whatever we forget we can get later.. hopefully." She chuckled once more softly. "Oh and thanks for telling father you would keep me out of trouble out there." They both knew Keira had the knack for finding the troube abd Kendaru had always followed her into the middle of it.

She smiled and gave a little bow to her sister.

"Thanks. If that's the case, maybe I should take this dress as well. You never know we we will get invited to a grand feast in our travels. After all, we are the emperor's daughters."

She giggled and then sat on the bed, laying back as she strecthed her arms above her head.

"I'm sure there will be plenty of places to pick things up that we need. We'll just have to take care our money don't get stolen."

She sighed for a moment before looking at her sister. She moved her right leg to put her foot on the bed so her knee was in the air, causing the dress to fall aside a little and reveal her slender toned leg some.

"What do you think we should do first?"

She looked to her sister as she moved, her motion so fluid and graceful. "Well I am sure staying out of trouble would be the best idea." She laughed again as she moved and sat on the bed near her sister.

"But knowing us it is not going to be easy to do. I think taking a nice dress will be a good idea, I should add one to my things." She shook her head a little her hair falling into her eyes. Reaching up with a slender hand she brushed the hair away.

"Maybe we should travel west, I don't know, I guess anywhere would be fine with me. I guess I am going to go change and then head out to make sure Ki-a is ready for the morning."

Kendaru had always been fond of the big grey horse, and treated him better than the palace pets. Her father always chided her for spoiling the beast, and she fought back that the inside pets were worse. Her father would usually roll his eyes and leave her be.

If there was one thing Kendaru had excelled in it was her animal husbandry skills. She would in time be an excellent falconer, she was already better than most men in the province.

"I think that would be a good idea to do. I'll need to tend to Kunsa as well. I'll see you in abit."

She smiled as she sat up and gave her sister a hug and a soft kiss on the cheek. She stood up as she watched her sister leave and then slipped out of her dress. She folded it up carefully and packed it with the rest of her stuff to take. She pulled on a black qipao to take care of her horse. The collar stood high on her neck and the sleeves of the dress stopped just above her elbows. It was loose-fiting over her breasts and stopped just above her thighs. It was slit up the sides to the middle of her thighs. A gold dragon was on the front, it's head on her chest and the tail of it extending down and curling around the bottom of the dress. She slipped on her sandals and made her way out to the stables.

She smiled to her sister who was already there taking care of Ks-ia. Jun'ko wasn't that great with animals, but Kunsa had taken a like to her when she was only a foal. She reached up and ran her fingers along Kunsa's white mane softly, speaking gently. She took her time brushing down Kunsa, humming a soft tune.

Kendaru had hurried to her room to change. Slipping a few other items into her bag before heading out to the stables. Ki-a looked up from his hay as he heard he girl's light footfalls upon the dirt of the stables.

He nickered softly to her and went back to his dinner. She slipped into his stall and began running her hands over his coat. "Well my friend tomorrow we head off for great adventure." The great horse nickered once more, his ears perked forward as Keira enter the stables.

Kendaru smiled as she heard her sister, humming softly while she worked with her mare. She was nervous and working with Ki-a calmed her. She was also very excited about the journey she would undertake with her sister.

Keira stopped brushing her mare's mane to prop her arms on the mare's back for a moment as she looked to her sister.

"Hey, what do you hope to do while we're traveling? I wanna visit a temple or two and see what the rest of the world is like."

She straighened up for a moment as she began to brush the mare's coat carefully before making sure Kunsa had plenty of feed for the morning. She moved over and leaned against the stall wall as she watched her sister take care of Ki-a.

She paused a moment in her brushing of the grey horse's coat and turned to Keira. "I don't know really. Maybe we can go out and become part of some great adventure. That would be fun, and maybe then we can pick our own suitors... or not if we didn't want them."

She ran her slender fingers through Ki-a's mane and then moved back to his head, running her hands down his face. "Yes a great adventure would be wonderful." She looked back over to Keira, her eyes bright in the excitement and anticipation of what adventure they may find.

Keira's curiousity was piqued when Kendaru mentioned the thought of not choosing a suitor. She straightened up for a moment, tilting her head.

"What do you mean, not choose a suitor? What could we do otherwise?"

She giggled softly at her sister's look and smiled.

"I'm sure something big will find it's way to us. We shouldn't stay away from home too long though. Mother and father might get worried about us."

She took a few moments to go back to getting Kunsa ready for the trip. After making sure everything was ready, she moved to lean against the door of Ki-a's stall, waiting on her sister.

Kendaru didn't take long finishing up, she made sure Ki-a was settled for the night. She patted him on the neck, "Be rested my friend, for tomorrow we start off on a big adventure." She smiled as she turned to her sister.

"I don't know yet what we'd do otherwise, but I am not ready to settle down and raise a family." She smiled as she stepped out of the stall.

"I don't think staying away long would be a good idea. I know mother and father would worry, and I would be amazed if father didn't have someone trail along to make sure we stayed safe."

She headed back inside with Keira. She wasn't even sure if she would get any sleep this night. "We should get a quick bath after dealing with the horses. I can't go to bed right now."

"Leave it to father do do something like that."

Keira giggled for a moment and then opened the stall door foor her sister.

"A bath sounds good right now, though I am sure I probably won't get much sleep right now."

As she followed her sister to the bath, she felt an odd sensation raising in her as she watched Kendra from behind. She frowned for a moment and did her best to ignore it. She had gotten the feeling more and more lately as she spent time around her sister, but she wasn't quite sure what it meant.

One of the servents greeted them as they came in from outside, taking them to the bath. She carefully pulled off her dress and laid it aside before she mmed as she slipped into the warm bath water.

"Mmm..this feels good. Maybe we should visit some hot springs again. What do you say?"

Kendaru watched her sister slip into the bath with a soft smile on her lips. The twins were identical in almost all ways, the only difference in them was their stature, Keira had more muscle tone and Kendaru was more lithe.

She then dropped her own gown to the floor and stepped into the tub as well. "Yes hot springs must be a stop somewhere in our journey."

She had always of late marvelled at her sister's flawless skin as they bathed together. She smiled as she moved closer picking up one of the soft cloths that lay on the side of the tub. She shooed away the servant that had noticed and moved to begin bathing of the two women.

Kendaru then soaped up the cloth and moved to her sister. "Turn so I can wash your back." She slipped behind Keira and began to run the soapy cloth over her skin, slowly, almost teasingly she massaged her sister's back.

"Hopefully this will help you relax sister so that you can get some rest this night."

Keira smiled as she turned for her sister to wash her back. If there was anyone she liked to wash her back, it was her sister. There was something about Kendaru's touch that made her feel warm inside. She giggled softly for a moment.

"Yes, this may help me get a little sleep, though I doubt I will get very much. I'm too excited to sleep myself."

She mmed softly under the gentle carressing of the soft cloth against her skin. She waited till her sister was finished before turning around and smiling.

"Your turn to turn around."

A chill ran up her spine for a moment, a mixture of a cool breeze that had come in as well as admiring Kendaru's lovely body.

Kendaru smiled as her sister giggled. “I am definitely too excited to sleep right now. I may end up up all night.” Unless I find other things to make me sleepy. She caught herself thinking things like that sometimes when she was with Keira, and sometimes when she was alone she would think of her sister, in what others may call unsisterly ways.

She moved to turn around for her sister to be able to wash her back, as she rose slightly from the water, the cool air caressed her breasts, causing her pert nipples to respond. She shuddered slightly as she settled back into the warm waters of the bath.

"Where do you think we should head first? I hope we find plenty of excitement." Even though she was beginning to feel the stirrings of some other excitement just now.

She thought about the question for a few moments as she scrubbed her sister's back lightly.

"I'm not sure right now. Why not let the road take us where it will? Things will be more exciting that way."

As she finished scrubbing her sister's back, Keira settled back into the warm water up to her neck. She mmed at the warmth, closing her eyes for a few moments. She opened them once more before she finished bathing herself and relaxed against the edge of the pool.

"Even if we can't sleep tongiht, I'm sure we'll sleep plenty tomorrow night."
