These guys fought for their lives...why does nobody care.?

LOL. you're kinda insane, aren't you?

Took you this long to figure that out?

Anyways, I'm lost. What's an Edmund Fitzgerald? Am I gonna have to ask Siri?

Just stfu and go down on...I mean...go down with the ship, eh?

I have a feeling that you are going "up". I'm a bit psychic....within two months....You will be in jail or some kinda serious trouble.

I don't call the shots, I just see it. good luck. :)

I hate the song. The actual story of what happened interests me.

:D

Who else could so patronizingly pat you so heavily on a fantasy back that exists only to you?

Gordon Lightfoot cares. I have a couple friends who are kind of obsessed with that song. One of them has actually done some research. There's a museum and they actually have the ship's bell, which is a big deal to sailors of all sorts.

The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum has the ships bell, it was raised in 1995, and restored by Michigan state University.

On November 10th the anniversary of the ship going down, it is used in a bell-ringing ceremony for the 29 lives lost.

What the fuck are you talking about? You sure you're not dishrag? Are you new to western culture or are you like 20?

One of the best folk songs ever written, but not without controversy.

The crew? I'm not sure they had much of a fighting chance at all given the situation. They were probably done rather quickly.

i've not been there. i need to do a good tour of the midwest.

there is genocide going on right now.

why does nobody care?

I'm waiting for the Elton John + Lady Gaga version, with howling dogs, steam calliope, and cannon(s). It'll be on the soundtrack of Disney's upcoming release FINDING NEMO EDMUND FITZGERALD. The captain's sidekick is a singing seahorse.

This thread seems to be a couple of months early. I'm curious as to why it came up now, and why you would assume that no one cares?

For the record, I really like the song, and will play it often come November 10th.
