In response to some posters wondering why Scalia was not liked by many Americans.

In late 2015, the Supreme Court declined to hear an age discrimination suit (Hinga, James V. Mic Group, LLC) against a subsidiary of the manufacturing company J.B. Poindexter, which is owned by John B. Poindexter. Poindexter also owns the 30,000-acre Cibolo Creek Ranch in Shafter, Texas, where Scalia was vacationing when he died last weekend. According to the Washington Post, Scalia didn’t pay for his flight to the ranch, or for his room at the luxury ranch. His food and beverages were also free. Poindexter maintains that Scalia wasn’t given any preferential treatment, as the 36 people staying at the ranch that weekend were all staying for free.

It will be interesting to see how many other freebies the so-called conservative members of the court in this era of the most corporate-friendly court since the World War II era also known as the enforcer of corporate power have taken.

Let's have a peek into the largesse of Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Kennedy and their ethics.

I wonder why the Koch Brothers would want to rub elbows with Thomas and Scalia?

Roberts issued his report at the end of a year that saw more than 100 law professors nationwide ask Congress to give the Supreme Court an ethical code of conduct after it emerged that Scalia and Justice Clarence Thomas had attended private political meetings sponsored by billionaire conservative donors David and Charles Koch.

What could the motivation possibly be?

ETA: This was in 2010 when the 100 law professors asked for the ethical code of conduct for the Supreme Court. Now let me think ... What case was before the Supreme Court in 2010 that could possibly have been of interest to the Koch Brothers? Now don't tell me ... I'll remember ...

It's amazing the Supremes haven't already had a Code of Ethics for 200 years.

Unbelievable.

Maybe some people didn't like him because he said just because someone has been found innocent of a crime there's no reason to not go ahead and execute him.
