I am looking for an editor to handle a long novel (almost 400 pages 100,000 plus words. It is my life's work and nearly finished. Unfortunately, i cannot pay anything, I am a senior on very limited income. I would be willing to assign a percentage if, that is, I ever sold anything. The editing should not be difficult as i have been writing and editing the story my entire life; Also most of it had been proofread and edited by my wife who is pretty good. I would of course give full editorial credit. I could send anyone the first page or so and they could take a look and decide. While not in a tremendous hurry, I would expect final edits in say, six months or so at the latest. I know this is a heck of a request, but my other choice is to trust my own editing. The book has quite a few erotic scenes in it, but is not, in its entirety pornography, but the story of a man's search for his individual and sexual identity, so there are some homo-and some hetero-sexual scenes.

Though filled with humor, sensuality, angst and pathos, the book is also about growing up in a family wracked by alcoholism.

I might be able to help you. I have edited for a number of people on the net and have developed a style of working which they seemed to like.

As to my background, I have published sixteen and two halves (joint authorship) novels currently for sale on not allowed to say but with free copies of most of them (and some short stories) on not allowed to say as the sales dropped after some years, and I don't need the money.
