I'm well-published outside this forum, but this is my initial foray here. I would sure like to have someone look my story over and help me navigate the process of publishing it as a series here.

I've written about 40K of it that I feel is a stand-alone, but can see another 40K possible if folks like the first offering.

The story incest/Taboo but is not too exotic. Its written from the perspective of a young man who lost his father in a ranching accident and is trying to keep the place operating. He is surprised to find himself taking on more of his father's responsibilities than he had imagined he would.

I'd like to chat a little first, to see if we click, hear some of your experience and maybe let me read a story or two of yours?

Anyone interested?

It's possible you'll get a bite here, but it's usually a tough sell to get someone to commit to helping you workshop and beta-read a 40k story sight unseen when you haven't yet demonstrated your writing style and abilities.

There's an "Editors" button in the author control panel where you can see a list of volunteer editors and cold-message them, I've used it in the past with limited success, but it doesn't hurt to reach out to some and see if any respond.

But my suggestion would be to do a good job of self-editing a short story that showcases your interests and your writing chops, publish it, and then come back here and post a story link asking for feedback! If your work is solid, you'll get some useful interaction, which could lead to some positive conversations, which could lead to further collaboration šŸ˜

Thank you, Penny!
I do realize it's a big ask.
I've visited that page and have reached out, then listened to all the talented crickets.
I've pretty much decided to start down that very path.
I so appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I self-edit a lot and am really more interested in some advice on how to publish on this clunky site. It's clearly doable given the enormous collection of stories here, but the initial navigation of it is challenging to say the least.

All My Best,
