Editor Profile Suggestion

I like the new setup for the volunteer editor program. I think the page is attractive and clear and it givers readers many options for filtering and finding the editor they're looking for.

I have a suggestion. I just signed up and received a message that I should try to reply to a request within 72 hours. That seems fair, but there may be times when for whatever reason an editor may not respond right away, whether because they're on break or on vacation or whatever.

I suggest adding a notification feature where an editor can signal to authors that the author is not immediately available to help editing. There should be a way to signal this to authors without having to remove one's profile altogether. My understanding is that when one turns off the profile the profile is removed completely.

SimonDoom . . . hope you don't mind me adding another suggestion to the new editors page. I have updated my entry and suggested people take a look at my stories to see the style of writing (think it is important to understand the way that an editor may construct their own stories and approach yours). It would be good if the stories count against a volunteer editor allowed you to jump into their list of stories. Maybe though there is an easy way to do this that I haven't yet noticed.
