Editor Needed

I'm thinking of pulling Succubus Rising. *le gasp* I know, why pull my highest rated story that has managed to be in the top 10 EH lists? I'm not going to pull it right away, so untwist your panties. ;)

Well, it needs more editing. Lots of editing. Which I've started doing. This story has been written, and then rewritten, once before already. The story that is currently on Lit is the second draft, and to be honest it cut a lot out of the original draft. To be even more honest, the second draft is entirely different from the first draft from the second or third chapter on.

What I need is more than a copy editor (though it needs that, too). I need someone who can help with readability and make sure my edits and additions stay on track and don't mess with the flow.

The story as it stands now is just over 55,000 words. At the rate I'm going with edits, it looks to top 75k by the end. The reason for pulling it would be to re-post the edited version as a series instead of in one major chunk. I would prefer one editor to work through the whole thing, but I understand that sometimes that doesn't happen. I'm also only about 3 chapters into this edit, so it's not like you'd be getting the whole thing all at once.

I've gotten some pretty good feedback and I know mostly what needs to be worked on. I'm just not sure if the edits I'm putting in are going to work in that direction.

Let's see... relevant bits:
~55,000 words, broken down by chapter
Erotic Horror
Non-consent
Non-human
The torture and non-consent is getting to be a lot worse through the edits than it is in the online version, and there is murder in the next-to-last chapter, but the bastard deserved it.
There is apparently a POV switch somewhere that was pointed out in a bit of feedback.

I'm not going to send this to you in one big chunk. I'm not that cruel and I think my email might implode if I tried it. I can share it on Google docs if you desire (I have it as a collection, Google docs rocks), but if you want to go that way I will warn you that the edited parts look like a rainbow threw up on the screen.

If you're interested, feel free to PM me.

Etaski! If you want it, just let me know. :) I just didn't know if you would want to take on the long one.

Why pull it? Are you planning on re-writing it entirely? If it's simply a matter of editing it in order to get it up to what you feel is an appropriate standard, you can edit it and submit a replacement that should allow you to keep your scores, I believe.

Yes, I know. But the edits are a significant change to the length of the story. I've gotten good feedback (except for one comment that didn't like Chaz becoming one of her mates) but a lot of it is along the lines of "this was a great story, but I had to read it in 5 sittings..." So part of pulling it was to add the edits, and break it into a series. I don't really care about the ratings and such, so losing the red H and the standing in the Top Lists isn't really that big of a deal to me.

If all I was doing was getting it edited, I would just submit an edit and not worry about it. But I'm adding content. It's already 14 Lit pages long. I don't think the following would stay where it is if it was much longer. One of the main stories in EH that I'm competing with is ManyEyedHydra's Succubus Summoning.

Succubus Rising is the longest story in the EH Top Lists for All Time (in the top 10, I know there have to be longer ones out there). If I can get away with adding this much content and keep the ratings up, I'll just submit and edit and not pull it. I'm just wondering how well that will go over, and wondering if maybe pulling it and resubmitting the edited version as a series would be the better way to go. Right now, I'm not sure how much of an effect these additions will have on the overall story.
