for a long term project. . .

Hey all, it's been a while since I posted needing an editor. I had a good one, but some things happened I wasn't happy with and so we parted. That's the way life goes sometimes.

I've been working on Horatio's Revenge. . . a novel (50K rough draft) I wrote off and on for a few months. I've got the entire story written in "posts" here on Lit, however now I am rewriting them, polishing them up, merging them and making them into lengthy chapters.

I'd like an editor that could edit a chapter at a time. I wouldn't hand over the entire story, because I haven't polished up the whole thing. I currently have 8 chapters ready to be edited. The first 7 have been read through and edited by a friend, but the 8th hasn't. I'd like a fresh pair of eyes for the first 7 (and if they need it, a new editing) and a full editing for the remaining.

This is a sci-fi/fantasy erotica story. I have also written the sequel to it called "Desiree's Defense". It is 30K (rough draft).

Lady C is editing my Fairy Tale Fantasy collection at this time, so I'm not that difficult to work with. Feel free to ask her. I'm not one that is in a hurry for this series either. It is a long term project.

Thanks bunches,

PM's are welcomed.

Yeah I can attest to that. Red is easy to work with and she has the patience of an angel. Believe me, I've had so many delays and still do and she's never complained once.

Red is a sweetheart and she deserves only the best....so editors beware....if you're messing up Red's work you'll have to answer to me. :p

hello red :)

i'm always excited to take on a dedicated writer! i would be willing to lend an extra pair of editing eyes, if you are still looking.

Thank you Lady C. :rose:

sexylailia,

I appreciate the offer. I'm not familiar with you or your editing ability. What experience have you had? This work will not be for Lit. It will be for potential publication. I'd have to pass if you aren't experienced in all aspects of editing, such as grammar, punctuation, sentence structure (because I'm sure I'll need some work with the flow of a sentence here and there, especially after chapter 7.

I would be willing to give you some smaller works to edit though, if you don't feel you have the experience to handle the larger scaled piece.

Sorry if I offend; I'm not meaning to. I just want to be sure about who I turn this over to and want someone who will catch my "oops" (trust me there are going to be several after chapter 7... ).

Hello Red:

I do have extensive experience as an editor for large nonfiction (300+) and some smaller fictional pieces (50-150). On lit I offer all of the editing you mentioned, grammar, punctuation, spelling, structural issues, character development and plot, etc. I do not however, currently work as an editor or for a publishing house. If you are looking for that, there are definitely others here that could serve you better. I currently have a couple of authors who are writing novels as you are. One exclusively for publication here on lit as a serial and two others that have several erotic and non erotic manuscripts that they hope to submit for publishing.

I completely understand your desire for someone experienced! I would never turn away any of your work but would not be offended in the least if you chose not to use me as an editor.

Good luck! And keep us posted with your progress.

sexylaila,

I'm not looking for anyone currantly tied with a publication house, I'm just looking for someone willing to take on a large scale task. If you have that time and you feel you have that ability. I'll be happy to send you a few chapters of the story I am working on.

Chapters 1-7 have been edited once by a friend. Chapter 8 is the one that will probably make you rip your hair out, because it is the newest rewrite of the original posts that I am blending together.

I would like a professional edit of the work, but no I don't need someone tied to a publishing company. If that were the case I would look for someone who gets paid for such a position. I have some sites that I am investigating for a print story and we'll see what happens with my Fairy Tale Fantasy Collection first. I do think that one will be ready way before Horatio's Revenge and the sequeal Desiree's Defense. I've also got The Series... Witches of Dellaview and Falling into the Woods in the works. There is also the Wicked Tales Series that is almost complete and 4/5 are already available to read on Lit.

As you can probably imagine. . .I'd keep you busy. ;)
