Hi folks,

I am kinda frustrated at the moment. I have written a story ... actually it is a translation from my german story. Cause I am not that confident with my english skills, I have tried to find a editor through the program. I have dropped a note to three of them, one was busy (which I completely understand), the other two didn't even bother to reply.

So I thought, ok ... then without a editor and submitted the story. It got rejected for broken up paragraphs. Ok ... fixed that and resubmitted. Today it got rejected again, for spelling ... ARGH. I ran it through a spell checker, unfortunately they were right.

Before resubmitting it again, I now want to have someone look over it. For spelling (although it should be fixed now), grammar and most important for ... well the flow of the story. Is it readable enough.

It is a 2500 word story, nothing kinky or special.

Anyone out there who can give it a look?

Thanks

Still looking for an editor?

Although I've only just gotten round to registering, I would be glad to take on your story (once my profile is approved, anyway). I like the task, and I speak pretty good German too if that helps...

Thanks for the offer, but I have already found a editor and I will submit the story this weekend again.

But thanks anyway.

Yes, I can help

Please send me your story and I'll (probably) return it to you Monday. I'm registered with LIT to edit. It's wrong for editors to simply not respond and I'd vote to have them removed from the list. Hear of that a little too often.

There is no rule which says you can't have more than one editor comment on it!

More than one editor?

While it usually is better to work with a single editor on any editorial project, it can be helpful to have more than one view of a new writer's efforts. A recent writer who sought my help had another editor and, if I read his notes correctly, we both agreed on specific areas of work the story needed.

On matters of grammar, spelling, style and other technical editorial issues, I hope most editors in the Literotica register would agree for most purposes. It is always going to be true that style can be and should be flexible.

One last comment. If more than one editor is involved, each should be informed by the writer of that fact.

Thank you.

your quest for an editor.

I totally understand the difficulties you are having. english is one of the more difficult languages to conquer, and doing so from german is even more difficult!

Drop me a line if you would like me to edit anything you wish to submit. I'm retired from teaching due to My coming into a bunch of money, and have been spending the last two years working on my third novel. I've always enjoyed editing, and it gives my brain a chance to slip into neutral so far as the novel goes.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Doc
