Hiya

Bit of a daft question, but I've just read my story and have only just noticed a few errors in the way it is laid out that I want to correct. Is there any way I can go back into it and edit it?

Thanks!

Io

This used to work back when I last needed to (but that was years ago):

Re-submit it, with the same title, but add the word EDITED n the end of the title ("Spunky The Slut EDITED"). For extra clarity, mention in the comment field that it's an edited version of the old story.

It will replace your old story with the new one in due time. Might remove votes and comments though.

What Liar said is correct except the part about it removing votes and comments. I've done it a couple times in the last few months and none of my scores were ever affected.

Yep, just submit the new text under the same title ( or as much as will fit ) with something similar to *EDIT* tacked on.

It doesn't hurt to note the Lit ID# of the story ( the number at the end of the URL in your browser address bar when you view the first page of your story ) in the notes section, along with what you're doing "fixing errors in the text on this story Lit ID#???????." That way, there's no chance of mistaken identity.

By default, only what you ask to be changed is changed. If you just upload new text, that's all that will change. Your votes, comments, keywords, description, etc. will all remain as they were. You have to note in the "notes" field if you want to change other things.

You can expect edits to take as long to go through as a normal submission, but I have seen them go through a lot quicker.
