Does anyone know the time it usually takes for edited stories to get looked at? Is it longer or shorter than an original story post?

Maybe a day or two according to the load of stories, Laurel has to wade through.

Also it seems to take some time before the edit changes show up in your story.

New stories have priority.

In the past, I haven't really seen any difference. Edits passed just as quickly as new stories. It's been quite some time since I submitted an edit, though. The queue has gone from 4-6 days down to 2-3 since then.

Nice!

My goal is to get better with editing my work. I want to mop up some of my earlier mistakes!

Theoretically it takes the same time, as the edit just goes back to where new stories are coming in. That said, the editing should really be done before posting (and really should be contained to major issues), as otherwise Laurel's workload is being expanded to the detriment of publishing new stories. Just cleaning up minutia that should have been more carefully reviewed to begin with is disadvantaging everyone else. Sort of self-fish, and after a few weeks the readership goes down so much that it's sort of nonsensical to readdress the story.

I've edited a few stories in the past few months.

It usually takes about a week for the edited versions to be looked at.
