Todd said:By fringe left. Do you mean right side of left or the left side of left?
why would ugly and torontonian have difficulty holding a liberal majority. Johhny boy is plenty ugly and he holds on quite well. And isn't toronto still hard core Lib town?
Todd said:left of left that almost sounds down right scary. I wouldn't mind right of left doenst have to be a righter but something that comes near center but doesn't have to be entirely center.
And we have to get someone who can think in terms of 12 provinces instead of 4 for a change.
I think the toronto phobia was legit and started long before you or I and has just sort of lingered like a dog who wet on the carpet, people always waiting for them to do it again
EBW said:
You're right. We should stop having PM's who only worry about Quebec and the Maritimes. Bring the country back to the people.
Left of Left, as far as the Liberals go, would be great for a country who suffered through 10+ years of Chretien and 8 years of Mulroney. We deserve a chance to kick some ass at the national level.
Toronto-phobia is something that was started by the obnoxious whiners who can't turn out decent economies or great cities in their own provinces and simply want to pick on the successful folk.![]()
EBW said:It would be a left of left PM but it would still be a centrist house.
The maritimes, as I've stated before, does fantastically well for itself interms of % of Government Dollars vs. % of Population.
Todd said:
Yeah but that %percentage of government money that goes into the the Premier's pockets is greater than the % of Government money that is actually used to improve the maritimes. I agree with you int he paper work the maritimes get a good prtion, but the liberal Premiers in this area make sure the people never see benefit of this money. from what I read inthe stats we have the most dangerous roads in the entire country, the lowest minimum wages outside of the territories, and the highest taxes , but i think out west it catching up in that area.
EBW said:
Which all of which I'd be willing to concede, the only problem is that those facts seem to be saying "The Country cares about the Maritimes, it's just that the Maritimers don't"
EBW said:Don't change the subject. The country bails you out time and time again and you can't seem to handle the money. I don't mean to beat up on the Maritimes(Believe me my beef with Quebec is bigger) but the anti-Toronto feeling is so annoying to me precisely because we give lots and lots of money, receive little to no thanks or prestige in return and somehow, it ends up that Torontonians are the assholes of the country.
I mean, Yeesh!
Todd said:
I agree with you but the people don't get to see the money, honestly we don't. It gets tot he premiers and disappears. The people know they got it, its reported in the budgets but where it disappears to no one knows.
I followed the paper trail and it disappears. It honestly disappears into the blue.
My theory a lot goes to the irving Family, the Gas/oil Magnet family here in the maritimes to keep them here. With out them in the maritimes , there would go half of everything. I really wish the wpople would rise up and go after the money you huys send us but they are to damn apathetic, for all the good it does, you might not even bother sending it cause the average Joe on the street sees no part of its effects.
Todd said:I been tryign to vote in good people but nobody else is workign with me.
Everyone well the 35% that do vote only seem to see PC blue or Liberal red no other canadates seems to be noticed. I wish in a way i could get to all the nonvoteing voters and give them a shaking out of thier lethargy of status quo.
EBW said:
Ahhh the PC blue. Favourite party of absolutely nobody but my fellow, simpleminded ontarians.
Speaking of the Progressive Conservatives have you spoken to FJ about shit like this? He's a big BlueBoy.
I think you should start pressing for an NDP/Alliance coalition in the maritimes. They could make some solid inroads
Todd said:
That would be intereting, but for now I am backing away from the alliance until Day does the right thing and steps down. I am looking at the independants right now and se if anyoneof them that are available are worht it.
