eBook Publishing - Cover Art

True, but at the end of the day are they really going to start scouring the e-book sites and tracking down thousand of authors using their photos for erotica?

And for "Immoral?" well then they better make sure no politicians have ever used any in a campaign:rolleyes:

sure.

Just sayin'. They have their asses covered. You can do what you choose, bare assed or swaddled.

and they do not have to track down anyone, if gets brought to their attention, or they stumble upon it, or the photographer or model does...

Exactly. I'll be looking out for my own interests, just as they are looking out for theirs.

That said, I don't do swaddling. How's about bare-assed with a signed affidavit of intent? :D

Bigstock has restrictions on using a photo for pornography, which I pretty much ignore. Dreanstime seems to have no such restrictions. Since these two sites offer quite a few photos in common, I wonder whether or not they would know from whom an author bought a cover picture.

I use "George Boxlicker" as a pen name, but I don't buy from them under that name.

I've made all my own covers (except one), using nothing more than Microsoft Paint. Any pictures I use I've gotten from Creative Commons, searching only for those that are for public use.

I know that GIMP is a pretty good program for making images. I've used it a few times but keep going back to basics.

ETA: One of my covers. The first thing my publisher commented on was the cover.

I still adore that cover.
