From a egroup I've learned that Ebay has changed their policy on bdsm items. It appears to be true. Did a search on bdsm and it only returned 300 items.

"Our decision to enforce this policy was strictly for business reasons. We feel that BDSM items do not belong on our site and as such we are no longer allowing them. If we feel that items are being marketed as BDSM items, then we will take what we feel is the appropriate action."

There is a strictly kink auction site. There may be others, and I'm not connected with this one or have even tried it, but they do have a lot of items.

I've bid on and won, then paid for, one thing from a seller at this place.

The seller ripped me off. The item i paid for never arrived. The seller stopped selling there and disappeared.

If we cannot go to eBay anymore then we have to go elsewhere - but be aware that other places have less stringent and professional standards, perhaps, and know who you're dealing with before you send any moeny or give out your credit card info.

I'm sorry eBay took this stance.
I see it as aominous, actually, a sign that our brief open period is closing. It was dark and lonely for so many of us back in the days when we had to hide who we were and what we did behind closed doors. We can't go back to that because we hav ethe net - but some of you would be shocked at the lengths we went to 20 years ago to keep info about ourselves very private. We had to.

I really hope the pendulum isn't swinging back toward those times but with eBay's decision and the recent rash of public anti-BDSM expression (ala the big flap over 'Beat Me In St. Louis'), i've got to admitr some worry about this issue.
:(

I have never really went with the out flow, now I am glad I didn't.

I have used fetish auctioneer for 3 items, and I have been very pleased, but then again all 3 item were won from the same seller.
If you decided to go to FA make sure about the seller I don't bid on items from sellers that don't have web stores were I could buy the item from them. KNOW your sellers.

There are a couple other fetish auction sites just starting, I will try to find them again

I'm glad you told us about that cym, I have checked the place out but also worry about getting ripped off...............Thats something none of us need.

i feel I need to express my sympathy here with those in this lifestyle, I find it sad in a society such as today that people are not free to be able to do, say, buy or sell what they want in an open system.

I am saddened by this ebay edict to close sales on bdsm products.

Would I be to embloden to suggest a letter writing campaign? I know there are many here in this community and I know there are many that are also part of of communities such as this one. Maybe, just maybe if a voice sings long and loud enough it will be heard and turn back this decision? I dunno, just a suggestion.

For now I will wish you luck with other auction sites.

Hi,

I run FA. In one of the posts it was mentioned that perhaps our policies aren't as stringent as others and therefore one of you was ripped off by a seller and that this seller is no longer selling on FA.

This seller isn't selling on FA because we banned them. While we cannot verify every seller on FA, I don't know anyone who does including Ebay. Ebay suspends accounts. So do we. I suggest you look at the feedback listed for this seller on FA. It's a good way to know what's going on with that seller.

We're committed to this community. My partners and I have funded this project from beginning to end. FA doesn't charge for listing, selling or buying. Nor will we. We simply wish to provide a safe place that welcomes kink not one that makes it impossible to use accurate descriptions and pictures.

We're here to support all buyers and sellers alike by providing a much needed service. We merely provide a place for craftsmen to sell their products. We hope you support them by checking out over 1000 items currently listed. We also support the communities at large by having in excess of 3000 free community links.

Give us a try! There's a reason why we have lots of listings on a daily basis!

zipperdiva, glad to see you posting here...............If this is true what has happened to e-bay then many could be going to your site and us getting what we are bidding on is important to us.

Glad to see you listen to others..........
:)

Listening to others

We absolutely listen to others. It is how FA was built. PKA chose us, we got hacked to bits and changed servers and rebuilt the whole auction code by code. I hired a superb script writer. PKA, which is a groups of sellers, told us what they wanted and we built it. Out of over 100 suggestions, we incorporated 92 of those suggestions.

We will continue to do so. We want to offer a quality space for buyers and sellers. We are players, toy buyers, toy makers, etc. We know how important it is to find what you need. LOL..it's all about making play happen. It's a good thing.

I use Festish Auctioneer, and have had NO trouble other than I have a hard time leaving feedback (I don't know why).

And could you explain the buyers drawing thing to me, I can't find an explanation anywhere?

Thanks You,
lilred

I share cym's concern that the period in which the BDSM scene was able to grow with little concern towards public opinion is coming to a close. The St Louis situation was the tip of the iceberg. An event was cancelled due to Christian fanatic pressure here in Detroit a few months ago, a restaurant in Indianapolis was harrassed until they refused to allow a munch group to meet there, etc.
Politically, there is little we can do to fight back. For one thing, too few people in the scene are willing to go public to stand up for their rights. And also, I hate to say it, but too many people in the scene make common cause with our enemies on other issues, and thus are unable to oppose them when they direct their oppression towards us.
What we can do, and need to do, is keep places like this alive, as sanctuaries for those who need information and support. Treasure this forum folks, we are lucky to have it.

Lady C...

Thank you so much for taking the time to come and post here at Lit. I have used ebay for a long time and purchased many items there,

My S/O and I look forward to placing items with FA in the near future.

Here is to a long a prosperous relationship....

I never trusted the whole process anyway. Ebay does zero to screen sellers.

I took a chance and was ripped off royally the very first time I "won" a bid for anything there. It was like winning an opportunity to open my wallet to a theif.

I've never visited the Ebay site again.

Buyers Drawing on FA

To learn more about the buyers drawing visit the featured sellers page on FA. At the bottom of that you can see the prizes.

As to how it works, it's really simple. Everyone who buys an item during a two week period is submitted into a file. I simply go into the file and randomly click on one of the files, up comes the name of someone who bought an item on FA and presto they have won a new toy. Sellers from PKA furnish the toys. FA never sees them or has a hand in it.

FA writes to the buyer and to the seller who is supplying the prize and once the buyer gives the seller their address their prize is shipped out.

It's FA's and PKA's way of saying thank you for supporting an alternative site and our products.

Does that help?

Also, if you're having trouble with feedback, please write us at fasupport@fetishauctioneer.com and we'll do everything in our power to help you.

Thanks for all the support!
Lady C

Thank you for explaining that for me, and I will take care of the feedback trouble in the AM. I am glad to see you here, I hope you enjoy it here and stick around.

Wow, welcome to Literotica Lady Catherine. I've actually heard alot about you between my trip to see a friend in Atlanta and such. But also, I've heard about you from the Lesbian D/s group here in Austin, Bound by Desire and saw the link there to your website.

I belive Lady C runs a news group on yahoo also if I am correct..................

I have bought lots of stuff on ebay, and never had any trouble.

We will mourn Ebay's passing,

but quite frankly I bought every few BDSM items there. I prefer to buy from merchants I find online, many of which have links at all of the BDSM links.

If you take the time to shop around you can find quite a few bargains, and the merchandise is top rate, and delivery is swift.

Thank you for taking time ot come explain FA in more detail, and in a personal manner, Lady C. It was good of you.

In an odd way, and after some reflection, i'm kinda glad that eBay made the decision to stop allowing our kinda toys on thier site. Now we have to go to FA (and the very few other kink-friendly auction sites - much smaller - like FA that exist Out There). We have to pull together as a community. We have to support our vendors and craftspeople.

eBay was nice but our stuff was lost amid the cardigan sweaters and collectors comic books and "art glass" treasures that are for sale there.

So we go to FA.

I'm betting that my other experience was a fluke and that Lady C and her partners will run FA with honesty and honor. In fact, i'm putting my money where my mouth is: i've got an open bid on something over there right now. (It's a birthday present for Risia's MasterMe - shhhhhh - don't tell him [or her].)

You are *such* a tease, b. :p

Yeh. Yeh. Yeh.
It's totally killing you, too, that i won't tell you what it is.

Tell you what, i'll give you a little help. All you have to do is go look through every single open bid over there for my nick and you'll know...
[insert smirking smilie here]

Don't think I won't do it. I'm compulsive.

Of course, it *does* sound kinda like work.

Hmm...what to do, what to do?
:D

Don't you have some kinda huge gigantic enormous Very Important Paper due...tomorrow?

Don't you have some editing or something you should be doing?

Rewrites?

Grammar checks?

Spelling checks?

To/too distortions to root out and fix?

You don't have the time, sister.
:D

(edited to fix a bit of glaring wrong grammar. Fuck!)
