eBay is awesome

I promised my parents that I would clear out all of mine and my brother's childhood junk from their house this summer. Well, I collected it this past weekend, and the sheer mass of toys was unbelievable. Barbies, Rose Petal dolls, Garbage Pail Kids, He-Man, Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Lite Brite, Battleship, Connect Four, you name it. Since apartments aren't exactly conducive to garage sales, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, and I certainly don't have space for it. So I spent the day on eBay. Thanks to this nifty "Buy It Now" feature, almost all of it is gone. I've cleared well over a hundred dollars on stuff that wouldn't fetch more than a buck at a garage sale. And I still have more to list. Man, I love eBay.

Ebay is cool, but there is some weird things there if you look in the right places long enough. Once saw someone selling a bottle of their own urine on Ebay. No joke.

Speaking of weird things, there's a group on eBay that hosts a contest at the beginning of each month, open to any and all willing participants. It's called the Butt Ugly contest. You can auction anything that is downright hideous or acutely bizarre. Bidding must start at 99 cents, and the winner is the one that gets the most bids. They all link to a page that lists everyone, so you can quickly scan through everyone's auction. I have a relative that is completely dysfunctional at gift giving, and I've been tempted to get her a Butt Ugly gift just to see if she would actually like it.

Somebody put up a link to it at another board I visit. Was a little too weirded out by anyone putting their urine for sale to really notice anything else. lol There were some bids, but I forget the exact amount at the time. It was more then twenty, just not sure on the exact amount. *Shudders* Just glad they didn't have any pics available. LOL
