I always get pissed when tax time comes around, because I end up with crap, while people I work with are getting four & five thousand dollars back from the govt. No one should get a refund. I'm all for a flat tax system if we've got to be taxed.

The amount you get back is relative to your withholding. Those suckers you work with aren't lucky. They gave the government an interest-free loan while you did not.

A flat tax system does not mean you will pay any less. In fact it probably means you pay more.

Most shouldnt be paying income tax at all. Income tax was not meant to apply to everyone, or even most.

I don't care much about tax rates. It's a marginal factor when it comes to my private economy. Prices, interest rates, and the sucess (or lack thereof) of my businesses (which are not very dependent on taxes either) is about a bazillion times more important. Not to mention my own good sense (or lack thereof) when it comes to handling my money.
