Hey All

I was just wondering when E-books are going to be available on Literotica and if they will work on the kindle from amazon?

There are more qualified folks than me to answer with respect to Lit's plans, but since they haven't popped onto the scene yet I'll give you my barely informed opinion.

I wouldn't expect Lit on an e-reader to happen anytime soon. There's electronic formatting issues, not to mention potential licensing hurdles, between here and getting Lit's free smut pushed to your favorite e-reader.

In the meantime, if you're dying to slide some naughtiness onto your e-reader, there are a few writers here that have their works e-published elsewhere. They're not free, but aren't expensive either. Expect the $0.99-$3.99 range for an adult novel, which is fair if you ask me. The more capable authors here pour substantial time and energy into their depraved musings and deserve a buck or two for their efforts.

Some authors here publish through eXcessica.com, which has about twenty titles that can be downloaded for free (either from there or from Allromanceebooks.com). I doubt they are available in Kindle edition, though.

And I also doubt Literotica (a free site) has any plans to go into e-booking.

I also epublish. Check out Eternal Press.com and Phaze.com. Both have huge libraries with many different types of stories. Good luck!

Excessica's books (including free reads) are available in MOBI format, which should work with a Kindle.

As for Lit... it would be interesting... I wonder if they've considered it... they could charge a "subscription" fee and bill themselves as a blog on Amazon for Kindle. They'd just need an RSS feed... I bet Manu could do that.

I do a mainstream (print) anthology almost entirely based on regional contest winners. I'd suggest Lit. could do that with its contests too--if it related what it takes to win a contest here more to the quality of the work.

For that matter, eXcessica could have a selection editor read through the various contest winners here (including the monthly ones) and probably put together some good anthologies by direct invitation to the authors.

As far as Mobi goes, that just shows how much attention I put to what is available where on what. I have what, almost 40 titles with eXcessica now? And I have no idea what all the permutations are of where the various formats can be read. I just know it's getting to be a big business.

I've often wondered why Lit doesn't do more print anthos... They only have 2? Or 3? No idea how they choose what they decide to print. If it were my site, I'd definitely be getting into the ebook business. But it could be they're already tapped out, resource-wise. I know how that goes.

And you're right, it IS getting to be big business! ;)
