OK, enough of the incest stuff, which was only fantasy anyway. I have elected to start writing stories based upon my own actual experiences in life (of which there have been many). Since I am almost 50 years old, I can look back upon those incidences from a different perspective, one brought about by the wisdom acquired with age. In many of them I can see some of the hows and whys they occurred as they did, and shall allude to these observations. Sure, I'll take some license with the material. I don't want it to be an autobiography of one man's sex life, but rather entertaining reading that is believable because it actually happened. Some may snort in derision, thinking "Yeah, right - in his dreams," but all the stories will be truth (in essence). My latest story, "Overtime" has been submitted and I'll post the link here when it is up. Please give me your critiques! I would especially love to hear from those whose experiences echo the ones I write about.

one man's autobiography

You might want to reconsider that "autobiography of one man's sex life" idea.

One of the classics of erotic literature is "My Life and Loves" by Frank Harris. It details the exploits of a Victorian gentleman. I was amazed to find it still in print and for sale at Borders last week.

It still holds up pretty well. Of course, old Frank had the benefit of Victorian morals (even a bare ankle was cause for scandal).

I have often wondered if a modern version would be a success. You just might have the life experiences to make it work. Just a thought.

autobiography

Hmmmmm, now there's a thought. Never read ol' Frank but I did make it about halfway through "Juliet" (the Marquis De Sade was a bit out there for me and I only read that much becuase I paid so damn much for the book <g>). You may be onto something, although I must confess that to iterate ALL of my flings and one-night-stands would eventually make for boring reading since so many of them were the same-ol'-same-ol'. Yes, I do still remember all of their names (at least most - some times I was too drunk to remember - LOL) Yet, believe it or not, each and every encounter was unique in that I did care about my partner. I have never been one to "put it in anything wet just to feel good for a while" and I have passed on many opportunities, not because she was unattractive in any way but because I felt nothing for her in any other way. I would say that each and every liaison was erotic, full of tenderness, caring and sharing - even those times when it was a part of a group scene. Would readers find this insipid and perhaps a bit naive? I guess I'll find out for your response has led me to explore this avenue. In truth, I have often considered the idea of writing an autobiography, not just of my sex life, for I have experienced a very full life, filled with much joy, sorrow, ups and downs - hobnobbing with the elite and shooting pool with the rednecks. Perhaps, if the erotic side is well recieved I'll just incorporate it into the whole piece. In any event, thanks for your response, you have given me much food for thought.

Good 'ol Frank

Great minds and all that. I think Frank Harris was the inventor of the "sex addiction". If not, he should be the patron saint.

Big, thick book. I stole it many times from Pop's library. It was work. I had to find three other books to plug the big hole it left on the shelf. He always found it and took it back. One of those things between father and adolescent son we never traded a word over. He gave me a copy for my 21st birthday and we shared a knowing laugh.

The unique thing was his ability to make rather routine encounters very erotic. Talented writing that endured through generations when the subject was erotica. Makes me wonder what he could have done with more mainstream subjects.

Have fun. If I jogged a few things loose for consideration, I'm happy.
