this is off the movie what happened after they were at snails grave. anyone is welcome

Fuck that! THAT "movie" was the worst portrayal of D&D ever to be made! It..it was slander!

True! True true! How dare they destroy the greatest, and one of the first true RPG's by making it so,....so,....Horrid!

It's the saddest, most unthinkable thing to happen to the D&D legacy since it got associated with nerds, and its popularity began falling.

D&D

D&D is the original RPG and the best. Like this forum it takes place in the mind via the spoken, or in this case the written word. I was a Dudgeon Master for many years until visual effects took over in Computer Games. But this is not what was asked and unless you are chaotic evil you should at least show courties to your Host you worthless footpads.

My dear host I am not familiar with D&D the movie but if you could give a brief overview of what you are looking for I will see if I can oblige you.

Your humble servant,

Cgraven count de Nuss

Here, let me explain the movie, in summary.

Two theives break into a castle where one of the highjer ups is trying to create a scepter, much like the royal one, that would have the ability to control red dragons. The royal one can control gold dragons. And these scepters are magic.

They're caught, but run off with a magic map and the princess, and maybe some others, I forgot (Thank goodness). They run into the theives guild to get a stone.

They get it in a very unrealistic way, and run of to use the stone to get a scepter that can control the red dragons. One of the theives, snails, dies. The other theif gets the scepter, some really boring action scenes take place, and the scepters are used to have the dragons fight.

The red dragons, miracles of miracles, are winning. Some more boring action, the good guys win, the remaining living dragons fly off. They go to snails grave, and, lo and behold! The stone which let them get the scepter grants their wish, and they all fly off, with the understanding that snails is alive now.

All in all, the movie was poor. It was nothing like you'd expect, and, not only had nothing to do with D&D, it went against many of D&D's rules, completely butchering itself for true D&D fans.

Notes

>They're caught, but run off with a magic map and the princess,

umm the princess didnt go with them she was too busy delaying the council in taking her golden sceptre, they run off with an apprentice mage

>theives, snails, dies. The other theif gets the scepter, some
>really boring action scenes take place, and the scepters are
>used to have the dragons fight.

He didnt even have to battle a ingle foe in order to get that sceptre i was all set to see someaction in the dungeon crawl but nooooooooooo

the movie in my oipinion showed off some excellent effects, like the landscape of the cityscape and some other parts (the dragon flying down after eating te bad mage), and the beholders they look kewl

the story line had a good points but they screwed it up in the movie.

as for the roleplaying of it.

i have somewhere a net module for the movie, so if u want the powers of the scepters and such i think i can find em again

as for stats we dont need em, this forum aint really for stat related gaming.

The movie was sweet considering...
It was a great REMAKE of a classic game. If anyone had bothered to read the write ups about it before the movie came out they would know it was LOSEYLY<---- based on the game.:p

Ever since they came out with 3rd edition, anything but actual roll the dice rollplaying is bad.

Then again, most movies based on games are bad. Take Toumb raider. The movie WAS the game. howeverm, of you ignore that concept, it sucked. the acting was horrible, the storyline terriblue, and the animation sucked. In Captain america the movie, red skull was a normal human ewaring a red mask. Final Fantasy the spirits within sucked, FF the legend of the crystals was too short, need I go on?

umm yer

the final fantasy movie had sme excellent effects, mostof the movie you can almost see it as a cutscene movie from one of the latest FF games, 8 or 9.

as for the plot, i dont like any of the futuristic ones they have come up with to date, only the medieval ones have warranted my money to buy them

You knowwhat would really kick ass? A movie doon under the following trademark games:

Diablo
Warcraft
Duke Nukem
Doom
Starcraft

It wold be cool to see a full lengh movie in these created "worlds", even if it did suck

Oooo, a starcraft movie will be great!

I would also like to see an anime based on Chrono trigger.

Oh, I did think of a good one though. Sonic the hedgehog. In japan, they came out with an anime based on the game (not at all related to the two american shows). THAT was a good game based movie.
