Every summer , on going to France, I bought four ducks.

They ate butterflies, mice and left-overs. I always wanted to eat them but the kids would never let me kill them, so when we returned to England and school, we gave them to the local farmer, who, I suppose ate them.

Ducks can make you stupidly sentimental like that.
