I live in a palace, yes it's true.
A wealth of rooms, stretching far from east to west
But of my many rooms, these are the ones I love the best
Each a haven I withdraw to when I need a moments rest.
These, are my drawing rooms...
Though no one room is quite like the other.
One thing remains crystal clear,
Each of these spaces is my very own
And each one I hold dear
I often wander from one to another,
filling shelves upon shelves
with trinkets and treasures
Most days I sit quietly ... imagining, lost in daydreams and thought.
Visitors are always welcome,
for goodness knows I have the space
Though I ask that you inform me
So that I may extend to you all my social grace.
Friends need no invitation,
Feel free to drift on through
I promise there will always be a pot of tea waiting,
and perhaps a biscuit or two.
