Strict new anti-drinking regulations announced by the Marine Corps would require Marines and sailors to take random breathalyzer tests semi-annually.

The program begins Jan. 1 and mandates that Marines or sailors who blow .01% or greater to be referred to Substance Abuse Counseling Centers for "screening and treatment as appropriate". Those that blow .04% or greater will have a medical evaluation that will determine if they're fit for duty...

Wow, this should really help recruitment.

I know a few bars in Oceanside, San Marcos and Encinitas that are going to go broke.

I was gonna add that the modern Marine washes everything down with a 6 inch peter.

In later news, suicide and random assault rates among those in combat arms MOS's went up 42,000% in the week following the alcohol ban.

So if Marines have to be sober on duty you think that's a bad thing? They already randomly test for drugs so why not alcohol as well? Also you should realize that popping positive only triggers screening, not treatment.

There's no alcohol ban.

So, let me get this straight, the "tolerant" "anything goes" liberals on the forum now are all for alcohol bans for members of the military?

If we're talking about on-duty with guns in hand, yeah I think a ban on that is not such a bad idea. You'd "tolerate" drunk and on duty?

There's no alcohol ban.

No drinking in the field.....

Let's just acknowledge that even being drunk while driving is far less dangerous than being drunk while wielding assault rifles and rocket launchers.

More left wing obsession with "Assault" rifles...hahahah as opposed to a "Friendly reach around pickle tickle" rifle....LMFAO!!

BTW no one in the military uses an "Assault" rifle numb nuts...they use select fire SBR's and/or full sized (18 inch +) battle rifles, again select fire auto's. Not a single branch rolls 16 inch semi auto civilian rifles. The only exception I can think of is the Barrett 50 sniper rifle....that one is civilian legal as it is semi only.

Also if rifles are so much more dangerous then how come drunk drivers kill thousands more every year than sober and drunk rifle wielding (ALL rifles including "Assault" ones) retards have in the past 20 years combined?

So, those are safer to handle drunk, then?

Because driving is more frequent than combat.

Never said that.....just pointing out your tribal left wing brain washing. OHHHH "ASSAULT (scary!!)" Rifles!! It's a standard semi auto rifle with a military body kit that gives it more fire power like 4ft wings make Honda's faster!! LMFAO!!!

If we ban dangerously fast race car accessories like these we can reduce auto death rates...HAHAHAHAHA

Uh hua..... What does that have to do with the fact that bad drivers pose many thousands of times the risk to your life than the microscopic odds of being one of the few dozen people killed each year by some nutty asshole with an "assault" rifle?

Face it, gun shows/ranges/stores/school campus's/court houses/Afghanistan/Iraq/movie theaters/convenience stores/IRS buildings and military bases and all of the gang bangers in Chicago and LA put together don't hold a fucking match to the risk/threat/blood bath that is the american road way. Just for fun let's toss in Booze/Ciggs/Junk Food....fucking gun homicides body count in it's entirety doesn't even register on that scale it's so fucking piss ant.
