You're drinking, dancing, happy and finally relaxed enough to let your true spirit shine.

What musical tune escapes your lips? (And loudly?) I'm not talking Karaoke.

C'mon - fess up.

Me? I'm currently singing along with every song on the Phantom DVD.

C'mon, join me - we need harmony on "All I Ask."

Drunk or not (but especially drunk), I'm always happy to sing along to the musical Buffy episode, Once More With Feeling. :D

Other drunken favorites are Janis' Mercedes Benz, Marley's No Woman, No Cry and AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long. Also I Love Rock n' Roll, and numerous punk/80s songs. :)

Oh - I love AC/DC.

And I love Van Halen (with David Lee Roth, of course!)

Me too, on AC/DC. :D I'll never forget the look on my parents' face the first time we were in the car and Big Balls was played. :D

God, I love that!

"But we've got the biggest, balls of them all!"

Leave us not forget the traditional, old-fashioned, antiquated, over-the-hill, outmoded and just plain aged drinking songs such as "Hot Nuts" by Doug Clark and the Hot Nuts or that sentimental favorite from yesteryear, "Gangbang Lou Lou."

Rumple Foreskin

Oo! Oo! Funny story!

Van Halen was in town a couple of months ago when they did that last tour, with Roth, and they were doing signings. In a Wal-Mart.

Can you imagine David Lee Roth sitting in the middle of Wally World?

Damn.

I saw them three times during my high school and undergrad career.

Great stuff.

*snicker* Kinda seems fitting...

Damn, I don't have Big Balls on the computer. Listening to You Shook Me... instead. *dances*

My favorite Van Halen?

Well, that's tough, actually.

I love "Ice Cream Man" and "And the Cradle will Rock" and "Runnin' with the Devil,: but I truly love their rendition of "You Really Got Me."

Need to find it now.

:cathappy:

Jim Croce for me.

Time in A Bottle, Roller Derby Queen, Lover's Cross. All great songs.

Springsteen's stuff before he became really famous.

"The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves.
Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays."

Boomtown Rats, love The Fine Art of Surfacing.

"Tell me why I don't like Mondays."

I'll think of more later.

I do "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Godspell" quite well when plastered -- all the roles. :D

Sea Shanties...they are loud and bawdy. (you would have no idea just how bawdy unless you read the verses)
my daughter and i sing them at the top of our lungs, having a blast.

that and...
Patsy Cline. perfection.

Rugby Songs

Eskimo Nell (with actions)
She was poor but she was honest...
O Sir Jasper etc.

German Student Songs e.g Muss I Denn (Elvis turned it into 'Wooden Heart') and Im Tiefen Keller - especially the very low ending.

What's the one y'all sang at the first Brit-Lit-ogether? If you still have the file, I'd love to upload it to the voices page!

On Ilkley Moor Baht'at

Not rude, but local. I think Matriarch recorded it and has the file. It may still be in the Yorkshire meet thread.

Me, too.

What is it with musicals and alcohol?

But Superstar is a blast - Caiaphas - those low notes? Verry fun to sing.

:D

But my absolute favorite is "Turn Back, O Man" from Godspell -- especially if I have a feather boa to use as a prop. :D

*sings* C'mere, Jesus. I got somethin' to show ya!

Ah, Mae West and Jesus. That's a great song.

I really like the duet - "It's all for the Best"

Go faster and faster, see just how drunk you are as you stumble over those words -

Some men are born to live at ease, doing what they please, richer than the bees are in honey -

:cathappy:

Am I weepy drunk? Then something moody and Dylan... Boots of Spanish Leather perhaps.

Am I loud, obnoxious drunk? Hell's Ditch by the Pogues was always a favorite...

life's a bitch and then you die,
black hell, hell's ditch

Sung to the most cheery and upbeat Irish melody you can imagine. :D
