Drone at the Whitehouse

Not really, I imagine that security at the White House is pretty lax when the President is gone.
 
What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.

If the president doesn't want the rest of us to have any privacy, then why should we worry about his?
 
Regardless of who is in the Whitehouse, it seems like it would be a big publicity win for any terrorist organization.

Not that the two are really the same, but this drone didn't have a camera anyway. But those of us capable of being assassinated really do naturally rate a higher level of security.

Also Obama was in India when this happened.

According to the article I read it's just some government employee who was flying nearby and lost control.

Yeah, I got that too. But if you're a terrorist watching the failures of secret service, aren't you emboldened?

I'd be surprised if someone hasn't done this before.

My point is that if this drunken asshole for the NGA can breach security, others can and will if they haven't already.

Yeah, but how much could one do with a drone of that size? Gotta figure the bigger ones could be seen and dealt with before they could do anything..
 
From what I just heard on TV, the Secret Service could possibly jam transmission but doesn't want to also jam the cell phones of tourists.
 
What are they going to do? Fly it through a keyhole? The White House is more hardened than it looks.

I have a battery powered helicopter. You charge it for a day and it flies 15 minutes...well I wouldn't call it flying. It could put your eye out though.
 
Considering UPS is considering using them for deliveries I imagine you can purchase drones that are capable of carrying explosives.
