i normally try keep my little head happily buried in the sand on my little piece of texas...don't read the paper and try not to watch too much news...and every time i do pop in for a look around i see drive by shootings in dallas, austin and san antonio...every frickin' day it seems...yesterday some big, badass hombre drives up to a house in san antonio, fires a few slugs through the walls and runs like the fuckin' coward he is...and leaves an 8 year old boy dead...they caught him today by the way...

drive bys seem to follow a general pattern...they're nearly always gang related and done, i suppose, to repay some slight, some disrespect of family or turf or colors or some such bullshit...

there are a lot of questions i have about this cowardly act... like whatever happened to the manly art of calling someone out, dukin' it out and then shakin' hands...even a god damn duel had some honor to it i suppose...

but tonight my real question here is how prevalent are drive by shootings in your part of the country or for that matter in your country for all of you from places other than america...

No, drive bys aren't very common in Richmond but they do happen. Here people pretty much get caught easily due to vehicle descriptions so murdereres kill people in that duel type sense you described....

Sadly, they are becoming more prevalent where I'm from. Recently, there was a shooting at a house with seven people in it. The mother and son died while the others were only injured. It was gang-related.:(

But here in Florida, while I'm sure it happens, I don't read the paper and avoid the news, so I couldn't say. Hoping what I don't know won't hurt me.

so sad..

I live and work in the los angeles area so i can say drivebys are almost a daily occurance.but usually skyrocket on the weekends. It sucks but 9 times out of 10 a gunshot wound brought into the hospital is a person from a driveby.
