This is the first time I have tried my hand at this, so be patient and please tell me how it makes you feel. good and bad. Thanks and here goes....
She sees him, out of the corner of her eye. This guy. she has seen him before, but not real sure where, or when, just a sense of deja vu. She shakes herself out of her reverie, and continues down the sidewalk. She's got a lot on her mind. She just got dumped by the guy she thought she would spend the rest of her life with. She wasn't too upset about it, so maybe it was for the best. Work was a hassle the past few days, with one of her partners being out on maternity leave.
She finds herself at her house, and stops to find the keys to the front door. She feels a prickly sensation the back of her neck. Like her skin was crawling. She whipped around to see if anyone was standing there. It felt like someone was blowing on her neck. She suppressed the shiver that threatened to climb up her spine. Her mouth is dry. She notices as she licks her lips. She tells herself she is just tired. No big deal. She has the next three days off, thank God for Monday holidays(or thank the Government).
She kicks off her shoes as soon as she gets in the door. An age old habit with her. She goes into her bedroom and peels off the skirt and blouse she considers her uniform. She steps in the shower, to wash away the tension of the day, after she lights some jasmine candles.
As the water hits her skin, she notices that her nerve endings are more sensitive than usual. As if someone were running their fingers up and down her skin, softly. She chides herself for being so ridiculous. She mutters, "you are just horney, get over it." As she steps out of the shower, the aroma of jasmine greets her. She breathes it in deeply. Smiling to herself. To Memories of better times.
She rubs her short blonde curls with a towel, and wraps another one around her body. She is feeling inexplicably tired, all of a sudden. She glances at the clock next to the bed. It reads 8:00pm. She yawns and removes the towel. She pulls back the comforter and lies on cool cotton sheets. She doesn't remember the last time, sheets felt like this. She closes her eyes, but not before she catches a glimpse of shadow on the wall. She mentally shrugs and sinks down deeper into the pillows.
In that space between awake and sleep she traveled. She felt the hands glide up her body, slowly, but with strength and assurance. The phantom hands cupped her breasts, the thumbs rubbing around and around. Kisses placed where hands had already passed. She smiled to herself, loving this dream....
I need a phantom, any takers?
