what more could we ask for?

Okay, the plans are set. janey and I will be in Atlanta Aug 30th, 2007 through September 4th. We are staying in the Hilton with a friend and our roomate.

Dragon*Con information It's only the biggest SF/Fantasy/Gaming/Comics convention East of California ever...

During the weekend janey and I will make at LEAST one appearance at 1763 , Saturday night, September 1st. It is NOT set in stone yet, but I might be doing a presentation on Erotic Knife Play. :nana: :D :nana:  :catroar:

SO! If you are an SF geek and want to meet us at the con and hang out and party and stuff, gimme a holler! If you are a kinky, twisty pervy player and want to meet us at 1763 and hang out and watch and learn and maybe play, gimme a holler! If you just want to make some noise.. gimme a holler! :D

Party in Atlanta! You got 6 weeks to get ready!

Unless something major comes up between then and now, you can count Kitty and me in for Saturday the 1st. A few general questions, though, if I may.

~Can you (or someone) suggest some hotels nearby that are within two college students' budgets in an area where we can safely walk inside at night and still have our car in one piece the next morning? We're only about two hours or so away from Atlanta, but I'm not wanting to drive back home if we end up staying late. I'm not familiar enough with the place to feel comfortable taking a stab in the dark.

~Would it be ok if I were to bring friends, if they'd like to come? I have a very good friend who's getting into BDSM who I think might enjoy coming, and I may see if I can finagle B. into taking time out of his busy schedule (*snort*) to tag along, but only if I'm absolutely sure it's ok.

~This is more a question for the ladies who've been before. *Paging Fury and others* What the hell do I wear? I don't own fetish clothing! I know it's not necessary, but I don't want to stand out like a sore thumb, either, so suggestions would be fabulous.

~When it gets closer to time, do you think we can make arrangements to all sort of meet somewhere, either at 1763 or go out to dinner or something, so we can meet everyone beforehand? Kitty and I are both kinda shy in person, which I'm sure no one would've ever guessed from our posts, but we'd both feel better not having to walk into the place by ourselves! (Yeah, I know, chicks and their strange phobias.)

Thanks, EG. We're going to do everything in our power to be there. I've been wanting to meet you and janey for a long time, and I hope a bunch of other Lit people will come, too. Thank God our financial aid money comes in the following week. :p

Dragon*Con and get some instruction on erotic knife play... I think I might wander down to Hotlanta..

Dragon*Con, erotic knifeplay, and Bunny and Kitty. That's what you meant, right? :catroar:

Just found this on the 1763 site.

Atlanta Regional Munch
Date: Saturday September 1, 2007
Time: 7:30 pm - 2:00 am
Repeat: This event repeats every month on the first Saturday.
Type: Club Event (Public)
Location: 1763
Atlanta Regional Munch A night dedicated to all of our Local Munch Groups! Doors open at 7:30pm, Dinner starts at 8:00pm, There will be a Demo and announcements and play will begin at 9:30pm Door Fee: $25 per person. You have to be a member of 1763 to attend this event. You must RSVP for the Munch event.

Is this going to pose a problem for us?

<Sigh> My whole knife collection was stolen some time ago, so I kind of gave up erotic knife play. I never got into them as much as other things, though, so the financial loss hurt more than the loss of activities. However, I always enjoy seeing people who are good at something demonstrate their expertise.

http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x95/Sir_Winston54/jumping-smiley-021.gif Since this date at 1763 seems to be more aimed at "our kind of people" than the recent missed date, I'm marking it on my calendar as a "definite maybe." I'd like to meet EG, Janey, Bunny, Kitty, Chris, and anyone else who can make it, too!

My best friend of the past 30+ years will be in Atlanta that weekend, and I was planning to get down to see him (since he now lives in Oz and only gets over here every 2 years or so), so maybe I'll get to kill two birds with one stone.

The way my life (totally screwed up) is going right now, I doubt I'm going to be able to make it to D*C as was sort-of planned. Nor am I a member of 1763, so that'd be a no-go anyway. :(

BiBunny, I can't answer your clothing question for 1763, but for D*C almost anything goes. LOL Think of Halloween on steroids. That help?

If something happens & I end up being able to come I'll post the fact. :)

*screams*

noOOOOOOoooooo!

I can't make it to Dragon*Con this year!!!

I'll be at GenCon but not Dragon*Con.

I WILL MISS E_G AND BUNNY AND EVERYBODY NOOOOOO!

Excellent news Bi Bunny! Yay for you two and buds!!! I do believe it's fine to bring buds with you!

Bi Bunny! I am about to post a long list of things that people posted when planning a gathering last time to help ya out!

Here is the web site for 1763.

http://www.1763.net/

http://www.1763.net/FAQ.html has the details

Dress code for the ARM munches is pretty much "Leather Casual". For Doms you will see a lot of jeans, collared shirts or sleeveless T's/muscle shirts, leather vests, leather boots. A few will go more formal, ie suit/tie, some will go bare chested. Submissives will be in anything from formal dresses to pretty much naked.

What you won't see:
Bermuda shorts and flip flops (unless it's a "Beach Night" theme).

Single submissives, 1763 is a SAFE place to go and socialize, to watch, to learn. NO ONE will be there _expecting_ you to play. There may be folks there who will be hoping to find someone to play with. You might find someone politely ASKING if you would care to play. But trust me, if someone gets pushy and won't take no for an answer, you just holler for MsWhip, Master Dave, MsPamm, terri, or any of the other staff there, and watch how fast they get bounced out. Someone who gets out of line WILL be shown the door. If you can't get them, get ME. I'LL throw the dumb summonabeach out and explain to Dave or MsWhip just exactly why I felt the need to remove said asshat from the premises without waiting for a 1763 official. I go WAY back with most of them... *grin*

RSVP's (per the Atlanta Regional Munch rules) should go to:

rsvp4arm@bellsouth.net

Tell 'em Geoff from T3WD in Columbia sent ya!

Also for those of us that are not members yet at this club, I saw that we should print out, fill out and bring a membership form with the membership fee. I also think there is a fee for the munch itself. (Yes, I'm a planner.)

The ARM general info is listed on the www.1763.net calendar
here you will find info on pricing, times, rules etc. We have several memberships
6months is 10.00
12months is 20.00
1 time 5.00
which will apply only to the night you attend.
You can indeed just bring the membership forms with you and turn them in upon arrival along with a photo id.

Dinner is included in the 25.00 door fee (for the munch) so you would pay 30pp for a one time attendance tonight with dinner included. Come join us you will definitely have an awesome time!
MsWhip

There are decent, reasonably priced hotels nearby. janey, and I will be staying in one. Often we stop at the Welcome Center on our way in and grab a coupon book, and can find a room within a couple of miles of 1763 for under $60/night. There is a Quality Inn, a Courtyard, the Magnolia Manor, a Hampton Inn, a Country Inn and Suites, a TownPlace Suites, a Motel 6, a Studio 6, and others nearby. I've stayed at the Courtyard, the Quality Inn (it used to be a Fairfield), the Motel 6 (it used to be a Red Roof Inn) and the Magnolia Manor within the last couple of years and basically it boils down to a "who has the best rate or coupon that weekend" decision...

If you want to look for hotels by chain, the town is Tucker, the area is Northlake, you want to look for hotels on or around LaVista Rd (Exit 37) or the Lawrenceville Hwy/US-29 (Exit 38)

www.kayak.com is a great place to search for hotels (and is even better for searching for flights) because it searches a whole bunch of websites at once.

2 and 3 star hotels sorted by distance in miles (<4) from 1763, I found:

0.8miles 3star Comfort Suites Atlanta/Northlake $81/night
1.0miles 2star Quality Inn Northlake $63/night
1.0miles 3star Holiday Inn Atlanta-Tucker/La Vista Road $89/night
3.0miles 3star Quality Inn Northeast $54/night
3.1miles 2star Econo Lodge Stone Mountain $45/night

I stayed at the Comfort Suites. Our car was not molested although, this isn't the nicest area, it was fine. The hotel was nice IMO.

I ended up wearing a white leather dress, black "jacket" shirt and black pointy boots.

What I MOSTLY saw women wearing was black anything. Typical huh? A very few ladies had more interesting attire but mostly it was what ladies felt good in.

Dinner is actually a pot luck at the munch. Did someone say this will be another munch? We stopped at a grocery store and got a veggie tray to bring.

HTH,

Fury :rose:

Thank you, Fury! Is there any chance you'll be attending this time, too? 'Cause if you did, that'd be awesome. :)

We'll miss you, hon! But I definitely understand about school.

This is my first time going back to school in about 10 years. Classes start on August 27th, so I won't even have been there a week yet. I don't want to risk it...I've given up too much to go back to school, I don't want to screw it up so early in the semester.

I understand. <Sigh> Too bad we can't convince the administration to delay classes a week. ;) We'll miss you, but school IS more important. ("We," if *I* manage to make it, lol... "They," otherwise.)

I'd love to see you and your lady too. However it doesn't look good for me going this time.

Personally, any event I go to, I usually wear jeans and a simple top or a sundress - comfy rules :)

lunar - who usually ends up nakkie for some reason before the end of the event.....
