Dope car stuff........

Nice, but I'll take C2 debut year, please.

The only thing I would do would be to grab the disc brakes off the 65.

Significance/collectibility and funtodrive are two different things with the old stuff, for me.

I like tidy but slightly shabby straight 6 5 speed rear wheel drive stuff for secondary use.

This summer I've been running a last year e36 cab, good clean fun.

I had a 65 Mercury with those styling cues.

Didn't have suicide doors, though.

It's no Chevette, man.

:D

Yea, that's a deff favorite of mine, but in the Japanese flavor.....high boost....10,000 RPM.

Great car/platform....there is a blue 1200 hp hard top running around down in Minneapolis.

I'll take anything rear-wheel drive. I liked hot-rod volkswagens with that heavy rear weight bias in my youth, because I couldn't afford a 911 Carrera.

I like the looks of a 356C much better, though.https://assets.hemmings.com/uimage/55184491-212-0.jpg

On my to-do list is to buy an M5, run it hard and then pass that hot-potato(e) on to someone else before it needs an engine.

On my not-to-do list is to pay a BMW mechanic.

.

So many issues to unpack for the overcompensating right.

I wonder why they're so in love with powerful black "cars"???

It's obvious to everyone but them.

SAD!!!

RR/MR are dangerous and fun :D

Best one, or I should say the only one I ever drove that felt comfy and din't turn into a top the second it cut loose was a K swapped NSX.

LOL :D

I like driving European cars, I hate working on them through.

 Why don't you inform me as to why I'm so in love with powerful green cars??

Man, an NSX is definitely in my fantasy garage. Race car for the street.

"Call me Winston."

Mid-engine is ideal, but not as fun. I had a CRX, it's 45% rear, 55% front so.it carved the corners fast, but it wasn't "fun" like less "well-balanced" cars.

There's nothing better than all that weight in the back to set up for a hairpin. When I turned eight, my grandfather bought me a subscription to popular Mechanics. There was an article in there about what I now think of as autocross. They were illustrating steering positions and force vectors in the approach and fish-tail through a tight turn. I had a Volkswagen and practiced that on some cotton field roads with about an inch of powdery dust. I had no idea that rotating a car is not quite do simple with the engine up front. Later Dad bought a new Caprice with an H.O. V6. Pivoting around that weight distribution gave me some additional insights. The Caprice could hold any line I wanted like the modern sport of drifting, but we didn't call it that. The Dukes were in first run at the time, and I was Roscoe.

Nice....yea I almost did an NSX instead of the Kittycat but I wanted to give some M'arican Muscle a fair shake.

Might still do it....check the turbo version out....and all the other sick MR action.

I wonder if these young kids with insane amount of horsepower understand that they are only alive because out of the box modern cars have so much better suspension then you could have built-in the 60s?

I hate the handling my Prius even after I put a Toyota racing design for the matrix rear sway bar, but it's still way more stable than a VW fastback.

I've bought urethane bushings for the Corolla front bar I haven't sourced yet. I'm considering shortening the end links to pre-load the front sway bar. I have to look at how it's mounted to see if that will work. When I get it all done, I'm gonna challenge iChevetteman.

Since the sway bar from a Matrix fits (sort of, I ground off 3/8 of an inch) I figure the entire rear beam, maybe entire suspension fits. Rear discs would be nice, just for bragging rights.

Suspension and brakes, then horsepower. Horsepower is no good if you can't get it to the ground and get it to point the car the direction you want it to go.

I still want to find the right ‘66 GTO convertible with a Tri-Power 389 V8 and a 4-speed stick.

I’ll find the right one eventually!

That's another thing I did not inherit. My dad sold the 64 Lemans with the GTO package that he ordered before they were badging them as GTO.

Most of them do, that's why suspension/brakes are almost always upgraded before the built engine goes in.

LOL....pimped up Prius, I bet it takes the chevette down

Bummer.

My old man is still kickin'....probably do the Korean thing and outlive me by 40 years.

He doesn't have any cool cars anymore, he's converted to a wood working guy for the most part now.
