UN Climate Conference using diesel generators to charge fleet of TESLA cars…

https://citizenfreepress.com/breaki...sel-generators-to-charge-fleet-of-tesla-cars/

COP coming to Glasgow. Leaders staying at Gleneagles Hotel & 20Tesla cars (£100K each) bought to ferry them 75km back & forth. Gleneagles has 1 Tesla charging station, so Malcolm Plant Hire contracted to supply Diesel Generators to recharge Tesla’s overnight. Couldn't make it up.

The fact that you're a moron?

How much exhaust is being emitted?

You have every bit of understanding of what harms the environment as you do about politics

Morons, LOLOL

I am BOTH a State Licensed AND Federally Licensed PowerPlant Engineer. I run diesel generators for a living!!

Of course you are.

How much emissions do electric cars emit?

Dumb Fuck!! Carry it from cradle to grave.

All the mining, processing, charging, then waste disposal. Fuck are you an idiot!

That diesel would be used regardless of whether this charging station is there

The cars would be emitting more CO2 if they weren't electric.

Net negative ...genius

(Is there any post of his that can't be edited thusly?)

Well, yes. There are also the ones that he openly admits he doesn't even believe, he just wants to ruffle people's feathers.

You mean like Rory's, who just posts in an attempt ( usually lamely) to try to trigger reaction.

No, I meant like yours where you flat-out said you didn't care about factual accuracy, you just cared about pissing off liberals. I do not recall Rory or any other user besides you saying such a thing. Not even BoBo, for Pete's sake.

Unless you can show that the generators will end up producing a bigger net-negative for the environment than using gas-powered cars would have, so what?

And they STILL say they'll need portable generators to charge the vehicles. So it's just a different name brand of EV. Still needing portable generators to charge.
No, here is what they said: “When asked about this point, the Cabinet Office spokesperson said that organisers were “still working through where and how many generators will be needed” but added that electric vehicles would not need “big diesel” generators to power them.”

So that’s providing some generators where they’re likely to be needed, and some does not mean all. Also likely that fleet drivers will know where the generators are and dodge using them.

Dooooo.

Lesson in electricity. It takes "x" amount of watts to do "y" amount of work!!!

A watt is a watt is a watt.

Powering 240 vehicles to travel "y" amount of miles is going to take "x" amount of watts. Those watts have to come from a generator somewhere!!! Watts are NOT FREE!!

That doesn't defeat Phrodeau's point in any way.

Strange....I wonder how those old timey automobiles did it.

And this is in Scotland, where 97.4% of their electricity is from renewable sources.

The “wind turbine graveyard” in Casper, Wyoming, is home to more than 1,100 wind turbine blades that have been disposed of and buried in a local landfill since 2019.

Wind Turbine Blades Can’t Be Recycled, So They’re Piling Up in Landfills

Companies are searching for ways to deal with the tens of thousands of blades that have reached the end of their lives.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...be-recycled-so-they-re-piling-up-in-landfills

A wind turbine’s blades can be longer than a Boeing 747 wing, so at the end of their lifespan they can’t just be hauled away. First, you need to saw through the lissome fiberglass using a diamond-encrusted industrial saw to create three pieces small enough to be strapped to a tractor-trailer.

The municipal landfill in Casper, Wyoming, is the final resting place of 870 blades whose days making renewable energy have come to end. The severed fragments look like bleached whale bones nestled against one another.

It’s not that the materials [in wind turbine blades] are toxic. The mostly fiberglass and steel structures pose no health threat to soil or groundwater. The state health department puts no restrictions on their disposal and leaves it to local landfills whether to accept them, or not.

“It can be a little striking when you see the size of the blades,” Alvarez says of the photos from the Casper landfill. “But it’s important to keep in context the blades’ place in the waste stream in this country.”

For that, he points to a study by the independent, nonprofit Electric Power Research Institute, which estimates that 2.1 million tons of wind turbine blade waste will be generated between now and 2050. Alvarez juxtaposes that number with 139 million tons of solid waste the Environmental Protection Agency says went into landfills in 2017 alone.

“All of the blade waste we may be producing over the next 30 years is equal to .015% of all the new municipal waste that goes into landfills in one year,” he says.
70,000 tons a year of disposed wind turbine blades, or 1/20th of 1% of the total waste going to landfills.

*chuckles*

Sure you do....

Now I am not overly familiar with Florida's Electrical Generation supply mix personally, though google will aways give up and answer....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_power_stations_in_Florida#Petroleum.... note in there I see zero Diesel fuelled plants.

I should mention that most coal/coke plants will burn oil to heat up, then when a set boiler temp is reached they switch over to coal/coke etc. The reason is the higher BTU's generated by fuel oil is higher than coal/coke. Which means most plants can be up and running in under 30 mins from a cold start.

These plants are normally referred to as peaking plants, and are use to ramp up supply for electrical dispatch as consumer demands increase over the fixed energy allotted to base load plants, nuke powered for the most part, but natural gas and even coal can be designated this term as well.

Funny SBG came here, looking to suck Alpha cock, and was last reported as trying to ease his ass open too, to accept them there. Seems he couldn't find any Alpha cock on Lit so he has begun to dabble in the political section, maybe thinking some RWCJ's might notice him.

Should we tell him, there are no RWCJ's around here who would qualify as "Alpha"?

Nah, no need to let out the secret, he offers up too much entertainment, or at least that is how I view his lame meme postings....
