My gosh, what's this country coming to, anyways?? Here's a guy who is just trying to make an "honest" buck, and those vicious Clintons undermined all his efforts just because he got caught.

Next thing you know. they'll pass a law that forbids former government bureaucrats from going into the private sector right after they leave the public sector. That will happen right after they legalize drugs and reform campaign finacing.

You need to pay closer attention. Slick Willie didn't need no stinkin' law; he issued an executive order shortly after taking office doing approximately that, if I remember correctly, it forbade anyone in the outgoing administration from becoming a Washington lobbyist for five years. But to his credit, he realized the error of his thinking and rescinded that executive order just days before leaving office. Dontcha just have to admire a man of such honor, integrity and righteousness?

Another one of THESE discussions again? I can predict who will show up & what they'll say. Everyone will spout their mouth off and no one will listen to anyone else. Clinton is Evil! Bushie is Evil! Blah blah blah...

Discussing politics would be so much more interesting if it ever got past the My Team vs. Your Team mentality. If we could see politicians on the other side of the fence as human beings. If we could spend less time character assassinating and gossiping and more time examining the issues that affect our lives. If those involved could actually think critically about it all instead of spouting off party-line garbage. If we could judge each idea on its merit instead of which side thought of it. If we could all realize that it's OUR COUNTRY that's at stake, and quit blindly supporting whatever our party does because we want to Win, team!

Until that happens, I'll pass on politics. It's a waste of effort, better spent attending to the 154 stories in my queue.

That little fit wasn't directed at you, Blue , or at anyone really. It's just irritating that you can't discuss politics with ANYBODY - not just here but anywhere on or off the web - without it turning into the same argument over and over. I mean, politics decide our lives! This is important shit - too important to be turned into the shallow war that it is in so many people's minds. My Party Good, Your Party Bad.

Yet everyone's so caught up in the he said/she said/"character"(which means whatever the person using the tem decides it means)/blowjob/iran contra/whitewater/whatever the scandal du jour is, and no one pays any attention to the important issues. So they keep on feeding this tawdry gossip, then pass whatever legislation they want while we're busy arguing about coke use and blowjobs, and then we have the nerve to act surprised. I guess soap opera's more fun, and it's easier to pretend 'your guy' is the Big Hero and 'their guy' is the Anti-Christ, but that's just not reality. Ah well. Whatever. I'll just keep supporting the causes I support, and keep my mouth shut. lol.
