silly fuckers probably think chicago is a fucking state as well.

it didn't even make the proper news at the time, being pigeon-holed under 'suicide by cop'

everything about this case is wrong

Just as silly as you thinking this happened in Upstate New York.

Any body cam footage?
i don't know. however, according to the forensic experts,it's quite clear that (from the position of the shot fired from her gun) that she had her arms raised defensively across her face and the gun was not pointing at the officer

Yeah, sure. You ain't from around those parts, are you? Ask someone in Rochester if they live in Upstate NY.

If you're not in the city, you're upstate. Period.

I live in the city, my guy. Ask anyone in the city. :D

Geezus

Other troubling details haunt the scene. Why, for example, did the officer call for police backup after the shooting, before calling for the emergency medical technicians who were on standby across the street? There was a 10-minute gap, while Guardiola was still alive yet bleeding to death, between the shots firing and the medics being summoned. Why was Guardiola put in handcuffs? “They were supposed to be there for her wellness, not to apprehend a criminal,” her 24-year-old daughter, Alysa, told me.

where do you imagine it happened? or are you suggesting it didn't happen at all?

wiki. facts.

why were police called in the first place? why weren't her next of kin, her kids (listed as her next of kin), called?

it smacks of an inexperienced cop sent on a job they were not trained for, who entered the abode and startled the woman who reached for her gun, legally owned due to her job, for self-protection and the cop reacted thinking she was going to shoot him.

then he panicked (again) and didn't know how to handle the situation correctly. this should not have been covered up but acknowledged, with sorrow&regrets plus sincere attempts at rectifying the training shortcomings or recognising law enforcement aren't the best people to be carrying out a wellness check in the first place!

Agreed. This was clearly not the right person to do the job of a wellness check.

I didn’t read where her kids lived. Perhaps they are not at all close to her.

Jacob Blake was shot in the back 7 times by police in front of his 3 young children, and is now paralyzed. He was reportedly trying to help deescalated a domestic situation.

yeah, been watching that. looks like all kinds of assumptions were made by the cop who then shot him 7 times, in the back, in front of his children. at least this one made the headlines and will be investigated in the public eye.

guy's very fortunate to still be alive and maybe he'll regain mobility, maybe not. we don't know yet. however, nothing, nothing will wipe out that experience from his life or his children's minds. :(

i don't know. but in the case of a wellness check (put in by her ex colleagues) that resulted in a cop being sent to her home, isn't it normal for next-of-kin to be contacted? i don't know (again), but it would seem reasonable to think that's what should happen. cuts and inexperience make poor bedfellows.

The fact that her soon to be former coworkers (who she had allegedly been harassed by) were the ones who called the police to do the check makes me wonder if it was them taking advantage of their last chance to harass her before she moved offices.

If that was the case, then, although the law can't do anything about it, hopefully karma can.

From what I hear, this is a common attitude of people that live in NYC. They don't know much about the state west of the Hudson. Is Buffalo upstate?

Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse all western NY
Plattsburgh is upstate

Many people figure "Upstate NY" extends to around Albany. Then you're getting into the Adirondacks and North Country(Plattsburgh). Very different cultures
